Typhoon Wipha is forecast to cause widespread heavy rain in the North, Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh from July 21. In particular, the Northeast, the Northern Delta, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An will have continuous rain for three days from July 21 to 23, with average rainfall of 200-350 mm, some places exceeding 600 mm. Other areas will have rainfall of 100-200 mm. Many rivers will experience flooding with an amplitude of 3-6 m.
The flood peak on Thao River may reach level two and three; Lo, Cau, Thuong, Luc Nam Rivers are at level one, two and above level two. Coastal localities have notified, counted and instructed 54,300 boats with more than 227,000 workers to proactively avoid the storm.
The total aquaculture area at risk from Quang Ninh to Nghe An is nearly 149,000 hectares, including more than 20,000 cages and 3,700 watchtowers.
