DTO - The program of sending workers to work abroad for a limited period of time with the attention and direction of the Party Committee and the government in recent times has brought about many positive results. After accessing the propaganda information from the departments, branches, and Dong Thap Employment Service Center, people have proactively registered and encouraged their relatives to participate.
Delegation from the Department of Home Affairs and Dong Thap Employment Service Center visited workers and farm owners in Korea
Currently, 100% of communes and wards in the province have workers working abroad for a limited period of time, with more than 7,570 people having gone abroad to work in various fields. The Department of Home Affairs and the Dong Thap Employment Service Center focus on advising and connecting, maintaining key markets with high incomes, suitable for Dong Thap workers. At the same time, they regularly inspect and supervise establishments and enterprises recruiting workers to work abroad to ensure compliance with prescribed standards. Notably, the units coordinate to advise on developing plans and organizing provincial working delegations to conduct field surveys inside and outside the province, abroad to learn about the market, work and life of workers. Through research, most of the province's workers working abroad have suitable jobs, good working conditions, and stable income. In May 2025, the Working Group of the Employment Service Center went to Korea to meet with farm owners and visit seasonal workers when the weather in Korea is winter. Mr. Nguyen Phu Hieu - Director of the Employment Service Center of Dong Thap, shared: “All workers going to Korea were received by farm owners and assigned jobs suitable to their abilities, so they were very excited. Through meeting with farm owners, the Group encouraged and reassured the workers so that they would not be affected by external factors, together trying to do a good job, solidarity, and a gentle attitude so that farm owners could see that a good working spirit would create the best possible conditions. Through the working trip, the Group proposed to the leaders of the Agricultural Center of Cheorwon District (Korea) to create favorable conditions and consider accepting many workers from Dong Thap province to work in the near future”.
The leaders and staff of the Employment Service Center regularly improve and complete the guidance process for workers, prepare suitable conditions for each labor receiving market; minimize procedural problems, help workers easily access, complete their study records and exit the country smoothly. Along with that, the Department of Home Affairs, the Employment Service Center in coordination with relevant sectors and units have deployed and implemented policies to support workers participating in temporary work abroad under contracts. Up to now, more than 8,200 workers have been supported in vocational training, foreign language learning, orientationeducation , and health check-ups, with a total cost of more than 22.5 billion VND.
With the results achieved by the Program of sending laborers to work abroad for a limited period of time, in the coming time, the province will continue to promote the work of supporting laborers to work abroad under contracts to achieve the goal of creating jobs with high incomes, improving qualifications and skills for laborers. Along with that, persevering with the goal of "Going to work for hire - coming back to be the boss", learning experiences to apply in production labor, contributing significantly to poverty reduction in the locality. The province strives to send 1,500 laborers to work abroad under contracts each year; 100% of communes and wards have laborers working abroad. Dong Thap Employment Service Center continues to organize Job Fairs, coordinate with organizations and enterprises sending laborers to work abroad to closely monitor and manage the working process of laborers abroad; Provide full information on the mechanisms, policies, and conditions for selecting workers to work abroad, ensuring compliance with bilateral commitments, treaties, and agreements; publicize and make transparent service costs, and move towards reducing service costs for workers working abroad.
