There are many Thanh Hoa people living, working, studying... in Ho Chi Minh City. Football is one of the bonds that connects them, helping them not only to exercise but also to share the passion to cheer for the province's football to develop and grow stronger.
Do you remember about 15-20 years ago, every match of Thanh Hoa football team, whether in Ho Chi Minh City or Binh Duong , the number of Thanh Hoa spectators in the south always came to the stadium more than the home team. They filled the Military Zone 7 stadium in the match with Saigon Port in 2007, they packed like sardines at Binh Duong stadium, creating a very enthusiastic cheering wave.
A football tournament for Thanh Hoa compatriots in the South, started as a student tournament in 2011 and then became an official tournament for Thanh Hoa people living abroad since 2013.
The championship trophy is a bronze drum-shaped plate.
Although it was just a grassroots tournament, the tournament attracted thousands of Thanh Hoa football fans from all over the southern provinces to the tournament. Although the first years of organization did not really create a buzz, the impressive moments, the dramatic and breathtaking score chases on the field, marking the dedication of the players and fans outside the field to the flag and colors of their homeland brought many interesting emotions.
After 9 years of organization, the 10th tournament has been upgraded with the support of the club that is competing very successfully in V-League, Dong A Thanh Hoa. On the afternoon of November 5, the launching ceremony of the 10th Thanh Hoa Southern Championship officially started. The tournament will take place from November 26 to December 31. 16 teams representing districts and towns of Thanh Hoa province, along with 2 teams from Thanh Hoa City and Sam Son City, will be divided into 4 groups competing at H2 Tan Son football field, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

The teams also expressed their determination to play with dedication and will "buy" some names from Thanh Hoa in the village of amateur football, futsal, even 11-a-side football without being "stuck" in the V-League and the first division or the 7-a-side football tournaments of the National Cup. Some names such as Pham Trong Hoa, Cam Ba Tuan, Nguyen Xuan Huong, Luong Ba Son, Nguyen Hong Quy, Hoang Ngoc Long are in the sights.

Thinh Phat, Anh Quy, Dinh Thanh, the faces who used to wear the Vietnam futsal team's jersey are also being watched by the teams. In addition, familiar Saigon futsal players such as Phi Ca Mau , Khanh James, Nhuan Baloteli, Viet Phuc, Dung Zeko, Thai Salem may also be present. With a total prize of nearly 100 million VND, of which the champion team will receive 30 million VND, the tournament promises to bring an exciting atmosphere to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Thanh Hoa community living abroad in the South.
