Photographer Nguyen Thanh Tuan has worked hard to create a visual space inspired by the culture and people of the Northwest region.

Tay Park - Ngan is a unique and creative visual performance, inspired by the culture and people of the Northwest mountainous region of Vietnam.

The show is a collaboration between photographer Nguyen Thanh Tuan and artists including: sculptor Lo An Chuong, choreographer Nung Van Minh, violinist Trinh Minh Hien, artisan - artist Truong Giang, music consultant Viet Hung, sound engineer Tung Lam and folk artists and Thai people in Hanoi.

The visual performance

The visual performance "Tay Park - Ngan" inspired by the culture and people of the Northwest mountainous region recently took place in Hanoi .

Photographer Nguyen Thanh Tuan shared that "ngan" means "forest" and symbolizes the stories and portraits of people he met in more than 10 years of exploring the Northwest. The work is a deep gratitude he gives to the land that welcomed him with warmth and sincerity.

Throughout Ngan are touching stories about the people of the Northwest, such as the love story overcoming adversity of Minh and Choi, a deaf-mute couple of the Thai-Muong ethnic group. Love and sympathy help them build a home amidst countless difficulties, becoming a symbol of resilience.

In addition, the image of Northwestern people sticking together to overcome natural disasters such as landslides to rebuild their lives also reflects a strong spirit and faith in their homeland.

Ngan not only recreates the natural landscape but also blends with the worship of Son Trang (part of the Mother Goddess worship), honoring the goddess who protects the mountains and agricultural life. This is the intersection between traditional values and contemporary art, highlighting the spiritual beauty of the Northwest people.

The show aims to preserve and spread the cultural values of the Northwest, bringing the audience to experience the culture of 6 Northwest provinces through photography and humane stories of Nguyen Thanh Tuan, a culture lover and appreciates the simple beauty of the highlands.

In the end, Ngan is not only a word of gratitude but also a wish, like the lyrics of Chau Van song "Pray for national peace and people's safety".

Nguyen Thanh Tuan is a familiar face on television as an MC, an experience character, with reality TV series such as: Di la den (VTVCab), Journey 1735+ (QPVN), Connection Hour (QPVN), Vietnamese Cuisine (VTV3), Journey of Beauty (VTV1)... He is also known as a producer, screenwriter, and director.
