On the evening of October 10, the art program Flowers from Trash took place at Trinh Cong Son Hall, Van Lang University (HCMC), with the participation of about 1,800 students and guests.

Combining art and environment in Flowers from trash

The music night Flowers from Trash includes four main chapters: Love of Homeland, Scattering and Picking Up, Colorful Environment, Flowers from Trash.

Performing throughout the night were members of the Feelings group. In addition, some performances featured collaborations with students from Van Lang University.

What's special about this stage is the combination of art and environmental protection messages through stage decorations created from waste and trash.

Poet Nguyen Duy - Deputy Director of the Institute of Culture, Arts and Communication Training of Van Lang University, representative of the organizing committee - said that the spirit of the program uses stories about waste and recycled materials from waste to tell a bigger story, which is a beautiful story, beautiful action.

From there, promote beauty, towards the common good for the earth.

Mr. Ngo Viet - General Director of Vietstar Joint Stock Company (specializing in waste treatment), who is the program director - emphasized that the art program Flowers from Trash is not simply a music night for entertainment, but carries a meaningful mission.

"We convey the message of environmental protection and how to live with garbage through gentle art, without focusing on teachings or philosophy," said Mr. Ngo Viet.

This is shown through products and stage decorations created from waste products such as iron chairs, towers...

Singers and dancers interact with decorative objects on stage, helping viewers see the beauty and meaningful recycled products from trash.

Voice for our Earth

The songs selected for the program, although not songs about the environment, have keywords related to "flowers" and "garbage" in a new perspective through vivid narration, through many forms and many people.

The audience seemed to be immersed in the musical space through the songs: The Country and Mountains of Thousands of Miles Away, Nostalgia, The First Spring, The Days of Love Disappear, Colors, Sleepwalking, Today I Heard...

These are compositions by musicians Pham Duy, Van Cao, Trinh Cong Son, Tran Tien... selected by the organizers to be included in the program.

The environmental message is also clearly portrayed through dances, artists directly interacting with recycled products, evoking environmental protection awareness in each person.

The highlight of the music night was the exchange sharing the message of environmental protection and Earth protection between poet Nguyen Duy and Mr. Ngo Viet. On this occasion, poet Nguyen Duy told about the poem Heavenly Garbage, Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth that he composed.

The music night ended with the song Earth Song, carrying a message of honor and raising awareness of environmental protection in each of us.
