On July 16, domestic coffee prices fell sharply by about VND3,000/kg, after a sharp increase in the previous session. The downward pressure on prices mainly came from developments in the world market and the USD.

World coffee price forecast tomorrow 7/17/2025

Global coffee prices are under downward pressure due to the strengthening US dollar, which has weakened the prices of many commodities, including coffee. The favorable harvest progress in Brazil and abundant supply have also contributed to the downward pressure on prices. Robusta coffee inventories monitored by ICE increased to a 10-month high, while Arabica coffee inventories decreased slightly but remained high.

However, coffee prices are still supported by drought and adverse weather in Brazil, along with the risk of supply disruption due to the US policy of imposing 50% tariffs on imported goods from Brazil, effective from August 1. This could create volatility in the market in the coming days.

In addition, domestic investors believe that current price fluctuations are mainly due to financial speculation, while the reciprocal tariffs between the US, Brazil and Indonesia have not yet had clear developments, causing transactions in the international market to be quite quiet.
