Recently, Mr. D.TT (56 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) experienced severe pain in the chest and epigastric region, and suddenly went into cardiac arrest at the local hospital.
Doctors intubated and performed emergency electric shock, continuous resuscitation, and simultaneously activated an inter-hospital alarm, transferring the patient to another facility with specialized expertise in cardiovascular intervention for treatment.
Determining this to be a case of acute myocardial infarction complicated by respiratory arrest, doctors from the Emergency and Interventional Cardiology Department of the second medical facility continued resuscitation and quickly ordered the patient to check the blood vessels supplying the heart.
The angiography results showed that Mr. T. had left coronary artery stenosis, the right coronary artery was almost completely blocked and contained many blood clots, requiring coronary artery stenting to restore blood flow.

After the intervention, the patient's heart blood flow was restored but slow. The man was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit in a deep coma, with a weak heart, acidosis, no urine, and had to take high doses of blood pressure medication.
The doctor shared that the patient had a history of diabetes and smoked a lot of cigarettes (1 pack/day). These could be major risk factors for myocardial infarction.
The patient had 12 days of intensive care. The treatment team had to take many measures such as placing a temporary pacemaker, continuous blood filtration, lowering body temperature and using vasopressors.
There were times when the medical team and family seemed desperate, thinking about sending the patient home. But with the determination to fight to the end and the spirit of "where there is life, there is hope", miracles happened.
On the 12th day in the Intensive Care Unit, Mr. T. began to open his eyes, gradually improved his consciousness and his heart rate became more stable, he was able to get off the ventilator and stop all vasopressors. He was then transferred to the Cardiovascular Intervention Unit for continued care and intermittent dialysis.
Up to now, the man's health has fully recovered, he can move on his own, has recovered all his memory and has been discharged from the hospital.
Holding onto the handle of a scooter that was still running, a little girl was seriously injured.
Recently, the City Children's Hospital (HCMC) received a 26-month-old girl (residing in Tay Ninh province) in a state of severe trauma.
Taking a medical history, 2 hours before admission, the girl was taken by her mother on a scooter and sat in the front. When she got home, the mother got off the scooter but left the engine running. The girl accidentally grabbed the handle of the scooter, causing it to crash straight into the iron gate in front.
The accident caused the child's face to hit the fence, his chest and abdomen were hit hard, causing a lot of bleeding.
At the hospital, the doctor noted that the child had a complex wound in the left eye, a torn lower right lip, and a bruised left lung.

The medical team stopped the bleeding, injected anti-tetanus serum and vaccine, used antibiotics, pain relievers, washed the wound, and sutured the child's eyelid and lower lip wounds.
After 5 days of treatment, the child's condition gradually improved, the wound was clean and dry, and vision in both eyes was normal.
Through this case, the doctor advised parents when riding a motorbike with small children to fasten the seat belt, put a cushion or pillow in front to avoid injury to the child in the event of a collision. When stopping or getting off the motorbike, turn off the engine and get the child off the motorbike to avoid unfortunate accidents.
