Building Yen Thanh commune to be rich and strong, developing sustainably in the direction of urbanization

On the morning of August 18, the Party Committee of Yen Thanh commune, Nghe An province held the 1st Congress of Delegates, term 2025 - 2030.

Attending the congress were comrades: Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Dinh Ly - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee; Nguyen Thi Thom - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; representatives of a number of departments, agencies and branches in the province; and 250 delegates, representing more than 2,617 party members in the entire Party Committee.

Yen Thanh commune was established on the basis of merging 4 administrative units of the old Yen Thanh district including Hoa Thanh, Van Thanh, Dong Thanh, and Tang Thanh communes. The commune has an area of 38.13 km² and a population of 47,780 people. The commune party committee has 92 affiliated party organizations with a total of 2,617 party members.

During the 2020 - 2025 term, Yen Thanh has achieved many important results in many fields. The total production value of the whole commune is estimated at more than 4,663,218 million VND; average income per capita reached 75.52 million VND/year, higher than the set target. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction, from agricultural production to industrial, trade and service development.

Yen Thanh commune identified the work of building the Party and the political system as a key task; improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization was focused on. Inspection, supervision, mass mobilization, and administrative reform were carried out seriously and effectively. One of the outstanding marks is the movement to build new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and civilized urban areas. The commune's infrastructure has been invested synchronously. Most of the main development targets have been achieved and exceeded the plan.

The cultural and social fields have many clear changes. Social security is guaranteed, and the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improved.

Education and health care have achieved many outstanding results. The rate of people participating in health insurance reached 97.1%, the rate of malnutrition in children under 5 years old decreased to 10.5%. The quality of education continues to be maintained at a high level. National defense and security are always maintained.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Yen Thanh Commune Party Committee clearly identified specific goals: By 2030, the average growth rate of the commune's total product will reach 12 - 13%/year; average income per capita will reach 120 - 130 million VND/year; budget revenue will reach 350 - 400 billion VND; the economic structure will shift strongly to industry - services, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture.

By 2028, Yen Thanh will meet advanced new rural standards, and by 2030, it will meet modern new rural standards according to the new set of criteria.

The Congress approved the Decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on appointing the Party Executive Committee of the commune for the 2025 - 2030 term, consisting of 25 comrades, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the commune, consisting of 11 comrades, and the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of Yen Thanh commune, consisting of 5 comrades.

Speaking at the first Congress of Yen Thanh Commune Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, comrade Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the outstanding results achieved by the Party Committee, government and people of Yen Thanh commune in the past term.

To realize the goals and tasks set out by the congress, he suggested that the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee need to uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, innovate thinking and act decisively, while focusing on effectively implementing a number of key contents.

First of all, it is necessary to continue reviewing, arranging and re-arranging the staff, ensuring the correct structure, sufficient capacity and political qualities, meeting the requirements in the new development stage, while proactively applying digital technology in management and operation. Focus on planning and investment attraction, clearly defining the central role and development nucleus of Yen Thanh commune in the Northeast region of Nghe An. The review and adjustment of planning must be carried out synchronously, inheriting reasonably from the old Yen Thanh district planning, ensuring strategic and long-term vision.

The locality focuses on developing commercial streets, forming a transport and logistics service center serving the entire region. Along with that, it is promoting investment attraction in key areas such as processing industry, finance - banking, education and high-quality healthcare.

In the agricultural sector, it is necessary to promote the application of high technology to create valuable products to serve the urban and export markets, thereby laying the foundation for the goal of achieving modern new rural standards by 2030 and striving to become a ward by 2040.

In addition to the task of economic development, Yen Thanh commune needs to focus on taking care of cultural and social fields, improving the material and spiritual life of the people; at the same time, strengthening national defense and security, maintaining political stability and social order and safety in the area. Continue to promote the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be streamlined, effective, efficient, close to the people and serve the people better.

Immediately after the congress, the Commune Party Committee needs to quickly concretize the Resolution into specific programs and action plans suitable to reality.
