Minister Nguyen Van Hung: Proactive, resolute, determined to well perform key tasks in the coming time

On the morning of August 9, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired a meeting of the Ministry's leaders to disseminate the regular Government Resolution of July and deploy a number of important tasks in the coming time.

Attending the meeting were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Deputy Ministers: Ta Quang Dong, Trinh Thi Thuy, Hoang Dao Cuong, Ho An Phong, along with heads of state management agencies and units with state management functions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung said that the meeting aimed to discuss and immediately and effectively implement the Government's Resolution assigned to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This includes tasks related to tourism, culture and sports. In addition, there are tasks related to institutional improvement, science and technology development, organizational structure, staffing, discipline and order.

In addition, there are important tasks on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025.

At the meeting, leaders of the units reported on the implementation of tasks according to the Conclusion and Resolution of the Government , other tasks as well as difficulties and proposed recommendations and solutions to the leaders of the Ministry.

After listening to the opinions and concluding the meeting, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated a number of units that had seriously performed their tasks and ensured progress requirements.

Regarding the tasks to be implemented in the coming time, the Minister said, for the group of regular tasks:

Firstly , it is necessary to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint of "culture in economy and economy in culture", identifying that culture and economy have a close and inseparable relationship. Reiterating the GDP growth target of over 8% in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years, the Minister stated that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism manages two areas that the Party and State leaders pay great attention to and direct to contribute to the economic growth target, which are tourism and cultural industry.

Regarding tourism, the Minister requested the Vietnam National Tourism Administration to seriously implement the Conclusion of the State Steering Committee on Tourism, the Prime Minister's Official Dispatches and the Government's Resolution on tourism development. From there, focus on improving the quality of tourism products, stepping up promotion activities, and achieving the targets and objectives of welcoming international visitors and serving domestic visitors assigned by the Government in 2025.

The Vietnam National Tourism Administration must closely coordinate with the Tourism Development Support Fund to improve quality and have product output in promotion and advertising, and must have new approaches with diverse product types.

Informing that the specific tasks and solutions were clearly stated at the Conference on implementing key tasks of the tourism industry in the last 6 months of the year, the Minister assigned Deputy Minister Ho An Phong to proactively inspect and urge the implementation to ensure the highest efficiency.

Regarding the cultural industry sector, the Minister said that the Government is finalizing the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's cultural industries to 2030, with a vision to 2045, and at the same time assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently develop a Project on the entertainment industry.

The Copyright Office and related units must make efforts and urgently develop a Project, in which a number of priority contents (such as performing arts, cinema, exhibitions) must be selected for implementation. And when implementing, there must be clear products, with specific evaluations and reports.

Second , regarding the institutional issue, the Minister requested to continue promoting the work of perfecting the institution. In the immediate future, we must focus on perfecting the draft Law on the Press (amended), ensuring that the draft Law has the highest quality to submit to the National Assembly for approval at the 10th Session.

The law must be built in the right spirit of creation to develop and thoroughly understand the view that journalism is one of the cultural industries.

In addition, the Minister also needs to urgently develop and complete Decrees related to the management fields of the Industry to soon submit to the Government for promulgation.

Third , regarding the development of science and technology, the Minister assigned the Center for Digital Transformation of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the Department of Science, Technology, Training and Environment to advise on solutions to remove the 5 bottlenecks identified by the Government. In addition, review the database in digital transformation and thereby upgrade the specialized database. The Minister also requested units to be proactive in performing tasks related to science, technology and digital transformation.

Fourth , continue to carry out tasks in the field of press and communication. Especially during the peak period of propaganda on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. The Minister noted that propaganda work needs to be promoted not only for specific political events but also continuously every month and every quarter with each specific task.

Regarding the key tasks to prepare for the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Minister requested to concentrate all efforts on implementing the tasks.

Regarding art programs, the Minister requested careful preparation and clear plans for art programs: Special art program serving the people on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, Art program serving the foreign affairs work of Party and State leaders, Art program at the National Achievement Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day and Art program celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day.

Regarding the preparation of the National Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, the Minister noted that this is a very special task, the progress is also very urgent, so the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions must make every effort to carry out within its capacity, report to the leadership any arising issues that exceed its authority. In particular, the exhibition booth of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism must be completed soon, becoming a highlight for other units.

Besides, it is also necessary to soon develop and complete the emulation and reward regulations to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.

Regarding the task of preparing for the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Minister especially noted that this is a very important task, and the participating units of the Industry must make efforts, focus on training, and support each other in carrying out the task.

In addition, the Minister also requested that a document be sent to localities soon to request the strengthening of cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, so that people can enjoy and create a joyful and healthy atmosphere. The highlight of the activities is that they must be organized simultaneously to create an effect.

In addition, the Minister requested units to be proactive, resolute, and determined to perform their tasks well and produce clear products. At the same time, further tighten discipline and order, and soon apply the KPI index - an index to evaluate the work performance of officials, civil servants, and public employees of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism./.
