On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), from early morning, people from everywhere wearing red flags with yellow stars flocked to Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum... to capture moments of Hanoi 's special occasion.
Today (October 10), Capital Liberation Day - this is a brilliant milestone in the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people. The 70th anniversary of Capital Liberation Day this year is an opportunity for each citizen to look back on the glorious history, growth and development of the Capital Hanoi.
According to the reporter's records, from 5am thousands of people were present at Ba Dinh Square to attend the flag-raising ceremony on the special anniversary of the Capital.
The flag-raising ceremony took place solemnly in front of the people.
People come here wearing red shirts with yellow stars and carrying national flags to show national pride.
At Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, many people wearing red flag shirts with yellow stars excitedly checked in with the national flag.
Many people wearing traditional ao dai went down the street singing and expressing their pride and joy on Liberation Day.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thoan (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) shared: “Today is the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, my friends and I were at Hoan Kiem Lake since 5am. Before going out, we had to wake up at 4am to prepare mentally, physically and in costumes to celebrate the Liberation Day”.

Many people traveled hundreds of kilometers overnight to Hanoi to celebrate the Capital Liberation Day.
Mr. Vu Van Dinh (76 years old) said, today I and my relatives and comrades traveled from 4am to Hanoi, hundreds of kilometers from Hai Duong to recall wartime memories in the capital. “I was an Air Defense - Air Force soldier stationed in Hanoi in 1972. Today, I and my relatives and comrades came here to reminisce about old memories and celebrate Liberation Day. When I came here, my memories came flooding back, remembering my close comrades. For me, today is a very sacred and proud day.”
The mural space on Phung Hung Street attracts many people and tourists.
People happily took the opportunity to take photos with the national flag on Phung Hung street.
Everyone was happy and proud on the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
