Resolution 57: Policy boost paving the way for Vietnam's core technology development

Resolution 57 has created a strong push for Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in the core technology game, gradually conquering the goal of technological autonomy.

After 6 months of implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, Vietnam's science, technology and innovation ecosystem continues to develop strongly with 858 science and technology enterprises, 45 high-tech enterprises and over 73,000 digital technology enterprises in operation.

A highlight in the first 6 months of the year is the strong support and participation of large domestic technology enterprises. This is a new feature showing that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW has truly spread to society and the business community, creating a large social movement, creating more resources and motivation to effectively implement tasks.

Resolution 57 has ignited the "fire" of the desire to master technology in Vietnam. The spirit of "autonomy, pioneering, and breakthrough" has been transformed into systematic investment programs, in-depth research, and specific technology products. No longer stopping at "applying available technology", some enterprises have advanced to the stage of "mastering core technology" - which has been a major barrier for Vietnamese enterprises for decades.

CT Group is considered one of the pioneering corporations, leading the way in realizing the spirit of Resolution 57 through concrete actions. At the 6-month summary ceremony of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, this enterprise 'introduced' the first ADC chip developed by Vietnamese people. Notably, this chip only took 6 months to complete - a record, paving the way for applications in defense, AI, UAVs and smart devices.

This is a strategic step in the journey of core technology autonomy. Accordingly, the group is deploying a chip design house system focusing on research and development of AI, IoT chips and chip lines applied in key areas such as UAV, defense, 5G/6G, sensors...

"The first time we launched the ADC chip design, it is a very important chip for Vietnam in the spirit of Resolution 57. Normally, this chip takes 2 years to complete, but we stuck with it, shortening it to only 6 months to meet the spirit of Resolution 57. That is the power of Resolution 57 that made everyone very enthusiastic," said Mr. Tran Kim Chung - Chairman of CT Group.

According to experts, this product not only affirms domestic R&D capacity but also opens up great expectations for the formation of a high-tech value chain "Make in Vietnam", where Vietnamese enterprises are not only consumers but also inventors, manufacturers, and global suppliers.

Along with that, the Group has included 6 strategic technology industries in the national product portfolio: semiconductors, 6G telecommunications, UAVs, gene and cell therapy, marginal space economy and digital transformation. The Digital Twin 15 project provides the largest data axis for the National Data Center, completes digital infrastructure, and enhances management and monitoring capacity.

In particular, CT Group is determined to be self-reliant in mastering 9 core 4.0 technology industries: Semiconductors; Artificial Intelligence; UAV; Green Cryptocurrency; Carbon Credit Exchange; Zero-Emission Folding House; Electric Cars - Electric Trains; Quantum Computers; New Energy and Genes & Cells. This is a long-term orientation, affirming the strategic vision and determination to lead in technology, contributing to raising Vietnam's position in the international arena.

In addition, the company also promotes international cooperation, connects partners from the US, Taiwan, China, Indonesia and many advanced countries, carries out technology transfer suitable to Vietnam's conditions, and realizes the aspiration of mastering technology.

Another enterprise, Viettel, has always identified innovation and application of science and technology as the core, long-term and sustainable development.

Chairman and General Director of the Group Tao Duc Thang shared that Resolution 57 of the Politburo, focusing on promoting breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, will certainly continue to create strong momentum for the development of Viettel Group. "We have carefully studied the resolution and determined that Viettel has a key role and pioneering responsibility in realizing the contents of Resolution 57."

As a defense and security enterprise, Viettel is always ready to contribute to the development of high-tech defense capacity, not only meeting national security needs, but also creating momentum for the development of domestic industry. Accordingly, Viettel focuses resources on developing modern technologies, mastering core technologies in many fields such as telecommunications, artificial intelligence (AI), big data and new generation mobile networks (5G 6G). Viettel is also committed to building digital infrastructure and technology platforms to support the Government, businesses and people in effective digital transformation.

In the process of implementing the contents of Resolution 57-NQ/TW into practice, key technology enterprises such as VNPT are identified as "pioneering" units and play an extremely important role in realizing the goals of the Resolution. To fulfill its mission, VNPT Group has focused on implementing three key priority tasks in a synchronous and resolute manner:

Firstly, VNPT has increased investment in research and development (R&D), prioritizing investment in strategic technologies such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), New generation mobile networks (5G/6G) .

In parallel, it is developing digital infrastructure and national digital technology platforms. VNPT is implementing the construction of modern digital infrastructure, including: Data Center, Commercial 5G Network, VNPT Cloud, Intelligent Operation Center (IOC), 3D National Digital Map and urban space simulation. VNPT also identifies human resources as a key factor in implementing Resolution 57 NQ TW of the Politburo. The Group is currently developing high-quality human resources through specialized training programs, cooperation with major universities and attracting international talent.

It is no coincidence that Resolution 57 repeatedly emphasizes the phrase "technological autonomy." In the context of increasingly complex global technological geopolitics, the ability to master and develop core technology is a direct measure of national competitiveness and economic security.

For businesses, especially technology businesses, "technological autonomy" is not only a macro goal but also a vital factor in maintaining competitiveness. Dependence on foreign technology not only puts businesses at risk in terms of supply chain and costs, but also makes them passive in product innovation and market expansion.

Resolution 57 with its clear orientation and long-term vision has become a "compass" to help Vietnamese enterprises boldly invest in fields that require large resources, high risks but have great potential for breakthroughs.

The road to conquering core technology and the dream of Vietnam's technological autonomy is still long and full of challenges. But Resolution 57 has done the most important thing: creating a push for domestic enterprises to change their mindset, boldly invest, commit and believe in their internal strength.

Initial achievements such as the participation of digital technology enterprises, the rapid increase of science and technology enterprises, the formation of a domestic R&D ecosystem... are the premise for Vietnam to make a breakthrough in the new era./.
