Every morning when we wake up, there are children rushing to put on their backpacks to go to school, there are crisp laughters in the sun. But for little Nguyen Le Hai Dang (6 years old, Nam Ha hamlet, Hai Ninh ward, Ha Tinh province), that morning half a year ago forever changed his life.
One day like any other, the parents suddenly noticed something unusual in their child's eyes. And then, the heartbreaking story came: "Hai Dang has a genetic mutation that leads to stage 5 chronic kidney failure, and is scheduled for a kidney transplant." The words "kidney transplant" were like a bolt from the blue, because the child was only 6 years old, an innocent age that did not yet understand what illness was, and had to brace himself against death.

The image of Hai Dang lying curled up, unconscious on a hospital bed at the National Children's Hospital made everyone choke up. His skin was pale, his belly was bloated, his innocent eyes were now dull from the pain. He had to wear a series of IVs, a ventilator, and kidney dialysis tubes, draining the life out of a child who had never been able to run, jump, and play to his fullest.
"Are you in pain?" - the mother cried out helplessly, hugging her only child tightly as if afraid that at any moment, he would let go and go.
Mr. Nguyen Ho Phong and Ms. Le Thi Suu are just poor laborers, working hard all year round. They sold their house and borrowed money everywhere, but the nearly 2 billion VND for the surgery was still a huge amount. They wiped away their tears: "We dare not sleep, afraid that when we wake up, we will no longer hear our child breathing...".

Hai Dang often asked his parents: "When will I be able to go to school like my friends?". That question made this writer's heart ache. He deserved to live, to grow up, to write his first words, not to spend days struggling with machines and medicine.

A drop of water may be small, but a million drops of water will make an ocean. Just a small heart from everyone at this time can be the only chance for Hai Dang to get a kidney transplant and return to normal life. Please help him light the flame of hope, so that his eyes will not have to close before seeing the future!
