Racer died at the scene after head-on collision
On July 3, during a practice session for the third stage of the European Stock 1,000 Championship, taking place in Magny-Cours (France), Gomez had a particularly serious accident that resulted in his death. He lost control of the steering wheel while going through a corner and was hit head-on by another car. He died at the scene.
Team Honda Laglisse, where Gomez rides, said in a statement: "We are deeply saddened to confirm that Borja died at Magny-Cours. Not only was he a talented racer, he was also a kind-hearted person who always had a warm smile. We will always remember him." The motorsport community also sent their condolences to Gomez's family.
