The Ukrainian air force destroyed 18 of 29 missiles launched by Russia and 25 of 28 attacking drones, the Ukrainian air force said on the Telegram messaging app.

Serhiy Popko, head of Kiev's military administration, said on Telegram that several explosions rocked Kiev early Sunday morning, with Ukrainian air defenses destroying about a dozen missiles launched by Russia over the capital and its surroundings.
Russia has been attacking Ukraine for several days in attacks that Moscow describes as retaliation for Ukraine's interference in the country's recent presidential election.
“Early Tuesday morning, all of Ukraine is on air alert and advised to seek shelter,” US Ambassador Bridget Brink posted on X early Sunday morning.
The Polish Armed Forces said one of the Russian cruise missiles launched into the Lviv region of western Ukraine violated Polish airspace.
“The object entered Polish airspace near the town of Oserdow (Lublin Voivodeship) and stayed there for 39 seconds,” the armed forces said on X. “During the entire flight, it was observed by military radar systems.”
The armed forces earlier said Polish and allied aircraft had been activated to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said on Telegram that there had been no attack on the city centre but that around 20 missiles and seven attack drones had been launched into the wider Lviv area, targeting “critical infrastructure”.
Meanwhile on the front lines of the conflict, Russian air defense forces said they shot down 29 Ukrainian HIMARS and Vampire missiles and destroyed 171 Ukrainian drones over the past day.
“Air defense forces destroyed 171 Ukrainian drones and shot down 29 missiles for US-made HIMARS launchers and Czech-made Vampire launchers over the past day,” the statement said.
