(Dan Tri) - Russia announced on November 9 that it shot down 34 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeting Moscow, in the largest attack on the country's capital.

In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that this was the largest attack on the capital Moscow since the conflict broke out in February 2022.
Images released by Russian media show several large UAVs flying at low altitudes. They explode and create fireballs when shot down, apparently due to the explosives inside.
The attack caused the temporary closure of three of Moscow's four largest airports, Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky. Two houses in the village of Stanovoye in the Moscow region were also burned down, injuring a 52-year-old woman, officials said.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said emergency services were immediately dispatched to affected areas of the capital.
The Russian Defense Ministry also said that air defense forces shot down a total of 70 Ukrainian UAVs over a three-hour period in six regions. The ministry said 34 UAVs were shot down in Moscow and the rest in Bryansk, Orlov, Kaluga, Tula and Kursk.
In the capital Moscow, local officials said the drone was shot down in the Ramenskoye, Kolomna and Domodedovo districts. A video posted online by Russian media showed a house on fire, apparently in the Ramenskoye district.
Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said it was a “large-scale” drone attack. He said the 52-year-old woman who was injured was hospitalized with “burns to her face, neck and hands”. “She is in intensive care,” Mr Vorybyov said.
In recent months, Ukraine has frequently deployed UAVs to attack infrastructure targets inside Russian territory but rarely causes damage.
