Heavy rain continues across the country, in Hanoi the rain gradually decreases from the afternoon

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and early this morning (August 27), the midlands and deltas of the North, Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, Hue City, Da Nang and the East of Quang Ngai province had moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places had very heavy rain with rainfall over 90mm such as: Cam Phuc station (Hai Phong) 166.6mm; Trau Quy station ( Hanoi ) 93mm; Van Giang station (Hung Yen) 93mm; Thanh Tan station (Thanh Hoa) 110.0mm; Khe La station (Nghe An) 103.8mm; Tra Nham station (Quang Ngai) 150.8mm; Nui Thanh station (Da Nang) 134.6mm...

It is forecasted that this morning and afternoon, heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue to occur in the midlands and deltas, coastal areas of the North, Son La, Lao Cai , Thanh Hoa with common rainfall of 20-40mm, locally very heavy rain over 100mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain (>90mm/3h).

Other places in the North, from Nghe An to Lam Dong and the South, will have 10-30mm of rain, with some places experiencing heavy rain over 80mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and at night). Thunderstorms are likely to include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. From this afternoon, heavy rain in the North will gradually decrease.

Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

The South is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain (rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening). Southwest wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 23-26 degrees. Highest temperature 29-32 degrees, some places above 32 degrees.

Ho Chi Minh City is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain (rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening). Southwest wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 24-26 degrees. Highest temperature 30-32 degrees.
