On June 8, Lai Chau Provincial Police said that due to the impact of heavy rain lasting from the night of June 7 to the morning of June 8, serious landslides occurred in Lai Chau province, causing traffic congestion and affecting people's lives in some areas.
Next, at Provincial Road 133, the border between Nam Can Commune and Than Thuoc Commune (Tan Uyen District), all vehicles are helpless and cannot pass due to a large landslide. In addition, many other provincial roads are also at high risk of landslides, causing traffic insecurity.
In the Ban Doan Ket area, the central section of Ban Giang commune (Tam Duong district), prolonged heavy rain caused water levels to rise, causing flooding and directly affecting more than a dozen households, many of which were isolated locally. In Tan Phong ward (Lai Chau city), there were some localized flooding and landslides, affecting a number of households.
Immediately after the landslide, Lai Chau Provincial Police directed forces to be present at landslide and flooding sites, coordinate with local authorities to guide and warn people, and organize traffic diversion. At the same time, mobilize forces and specialized vehicles to support the evacuation and relief of affected people.
