TPO - In the coming days, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the South will continue to be sunny during the day, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Beware of the possibility of heavy rain causing localized flooding.

Regarding the weather trend in Ho Chi Minh City in the next 10 days (from May 9 to 19), the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that the subtropical high pressure system with an axis through the Central region is currently stable. In addition, disturbances in the upper atmosphere (causing rain) continue to persist in the Southern region.

Based on the above weather conditions, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that in the coming days, many areas in Ho Chi Minh City will have a probability of rain of 65-70%. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, beware of the possibility of heavy rain causing localized flooding.

During the 10 days in mid-May, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City will generally have scattered showers and thunderstorms. Be on guard against thunderstorms and hail that may appear during thunderstorms. Hot weather with the highest temperature above 35-37 degrees in the city center for a few days.

In recent days, Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region have experienced widespread and moderate seasonal rains. However, some places are still experiencing hot weather, although the intensity has decreased compared to late April.

Specifically, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 10, the Southeast region will have hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 34-36 degrees Celsius, with some places above 36 degrees Celsius.

It is forecasted that from May 12-15, the Southeast region will continue to have hot weather. There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
