Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Napoli are ready to include a mandatory buy clause in the £39m loan deal for Rasmus Hojlund.

The clause concerns the number of appearances and goals Hojlund scores in his new environment, and whether Napoli qualify for the Champions League next season.

If the deal goes through, MU will suffer a huge loss of £33 million, having brought Hojlund from Atalanta two years ago for a fee of £72 million.

Sources from Italy also said that former MU midfielder Scott McTominay called to convince Hojlund to move to Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The Danish striker is considered a priority target for Napoli, after Lukaku suffered a serious injury and had to rest until the end of the year.

Hojlund has not played a single minute for the Red Devils this season as the club are trying to offload him before the summer transfer window closes.

A source from MU said that Hojlund was praised for his "mature attitude" in the context of the ongoing transfer story.

The Danish striker is still training hard while patiently waiting for official information from Napoli.
