On August 26, Mr. Do Huu Quynh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Khanh Hoa province, said that public kindergartens and private independent preschools under the management of the People's Committees of newly merged communes will continue to benefit from the School Milk project from September 2025 to the end of 2030, according to Resolution No. 130 dated December 14, 2023 of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council.

According to Mr. Do Huu Quynh, after more than 1 year of implementing the project (from May 2024 to present), more than 5,700 preschool children in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts (old) have been given milk, the rate of malnourished children with low weight and stunted growth has decreased significantly (an average decrease of 11-19%). Children's health has improved, they are more interested in going to school, which has contributed to the rate of mobilizing children to attend class in the areas to meet and exceed the target.

“To continue to effectively implement the project in the 2025-2026 school year, in the context of newly merged communes, the Department has requested the People's Committees of communes to promptly issue plans and implement the School Milk project for preschool children in the area,” said Mr. Do Huu Quynh.

According to the School Milk project for the period 2024 - 2030, all children of 24 schools (in the communes of Khanh Son, Tay Khanh Son, Dong Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh, Nam Khanh Vinh, Trung Khanh Vinh, Tay Khanh Vinh) will drink free milk for 9 months/school year (except 3 summer months), 5 times/week.

The budget for implementing this project is more than 61.5 billion VND, of which the provincial budget supports 75% (46.1 billion VND), milk suppliers support 25% (more than 15.3 billion VND) to ensure that 100% of preschool children can drink free milk at school.
