As the main breadwinner in the family, Ms. Am is solely responsible for all living expenses and medical treatment for her husband, Mr. Le Quoc Chinh (born in 1984), who is suffering from malignant esophageal cancer. Their only son is about to start a new school year, with many worries about his lack of everything.

Ms. Am is taking care of her husband, Mr. Chinh, who is seriously ill. |
Ms. Am’s family has no land for production, and her income from working as a worker at a company in the My Tho Industrial Park was already difficult, and now it became even more difficult when she had to quit her job to take care of her husband. The house she is living in, which her husband’s family gave her temporary land to build many years ago, is now seriously degraded. Fortunately, the company where she works has supported her in repairing the house to provide shelter from the sun and rain.
Life was not easy, but tragedy struck Ms. Am when Mr. Chinh began to fall ill. In 2017, he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. After a 6-month treatment according to the regimen of
Tien Giang Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital, Mr. Chinh's condition temporarily improved. However, after a while, the disease relapsed, with more severe symptoms such as fever, prolonged cough, and poor health. He continued to receive treatment for the second time. Although his health was still weak, he still tried to return to his job selling lottery tickets to support his family and send his children to school.
However, fate continued to test them when, in mid-May 2025, Mr. Chinh suddenly vomited blood and was taken to Tien Giang General Hospital and then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City. There, he was diagnosed with malignant esophageal cancer. Doctors required Mr. Chinh to be hospitalized for surgery and chemotherapy according to the regimen - a treatment process with costs beyond the family's ability, which was exhausted after many years of treating him.
With no other way to cope, Ms. Am had to take her husband home and seek traditional medicine to treat his illness as her last hope. Since then, she had to quit her job to take care of her husband full-time. All living expenses, medicine, and children's education costs are now shouldered by no one. Every day, Ms. Am takes care of her seriously ill husband while also running around to make meals and small amounts of money to support the family.
The only son of Mr. Chinh and Ms. Am is currently studying in grade 8 at Duong Diem Secondary School in Binh Trung Commune, and is the hope for a better future for the family. However, in the current difficult situation, she does not know whether she can afford to send her son to school next year. Ms. Am confided: “I always hope that someone will help my husband continue his treatment, so that he has a chance to recover. As long as he gets better, I can return to work and take care of my son's education.”
Both the paternal and maternal families are in difficult circumstances, so despite their best efforts, they can only provide partial support to Mr. Chinh and Ms. Am. Despite their extremely difficult circumstances, Ms. Am does not give up, still holding out hope that one day her husband will recover and her children will be able to go to school.
At this time, Ms. Am's family is looking forward to receiving attention and help from philanthropists and kind-hearted people near and far. Every share at this time is not only to help Mr. Chinh - Ms. Am's husband to receive treatment and maintain his life, but also to help her children continue to go to school and a poor family to overcome adversity...
