Can you share your feelings when your name was announced as one of the 25 contestants for the Miss Vietnam 2024 Finals?
Actually, before the moment my name was announced by the jury near the end of the list, I was a bit nervous and worried. But it was my belief in constant effort, continuous learning, cultivating and spreading good things that helped me stay strong. Therefore, when my name was called, I felt that I had won a small and meaningful victory on the journey of Miss Vietnam. That was also the reason why I decided to step out of my comfort zone, carrying with me the baggage of love for my homeland, confidence and the desire to contribute to conquer this journey.
What was the reason that made Giang Thanh decide to conquer the crown in this contest ?
For me, I am very lucky to be born and raised in Ha Long, Quang Ninh and to listen to historical stories and national traditions from my parents and teachers. It is this environment that has instilled in me a passion for discovery and a desire to spread the good values of my homeland to the competition as well as everyone.
Miss Vietnam is not only a beauty contest, but also a valuable opportunity to challenge yourself, learn and inspire the community. Therefore, I decided to participate in this beauty contest, with the desire to contribute to spreading the cultural beauty of my homeland and inspiring a positive, meaningful life to the community.
Throughout the competition, what difficulties did you face?
I must say that the biggest challenge for me was the psychological pressure. In a highly competitive environment, there were times when I felt skeptical about my own abilities, wondering whether my preparation was enough to go further.
At times like these, instead of letting my lack of confidence overwhelm me, I choose to face it head-on. I remind myself of my core goal when I started this journey. In particular, the image and love for my hometown Quang Ninh is a great source of spiritual motivation, a solid support that helps me regain my composure and determination.
How important is the support from family, especially parents and relatives, on the path to conquering the crown at the upcoming Miss Vietnam pageant?
For me, my parents have always played the role of a solid support during the competition. Their care not only comes from words of encouragement but also exists in every trusting look, in the silent sacrifice and boundless pride that my parents have for me, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Many times, amidst the hustle and bustle of the competition, feeling tired or pressured to stop is inevitable. But it is those moments of remembering my parents' constant care, remembering their love and warm expectations, that give me extraordinary strength to continue.
As a child born and raised in Ha Long, Quang Ninh, if you were to introduce and spread the beauty of your hometown to the contestants, what would you share ?
I am lucky to have grown up and absorbed the cultural values in the mining land of Quang Ninh. I myself am very excited to share with the contestants about the beauty and uniqueness of my homeland.
To feel Quang Ninh, perhaps we must start with the majestic, poetic beauty of Ha Long Bay. But beyond that heart-stirring scenery, my hometown is also a place where deep layers of culture and history are deposited, expressed through thousand-year heritages, rustic yet profound folk songs, and the traditional festival atmosphere imbued with identity.
Perhaps, the special thing that makes Quang Ninh unique is the people here with their friendliness, resilience, always carrying within them the precious spirit of "Discipline and Unity" of the Mining Region people. I believe that, to fully experience Quang Ninh, there is nothing better than a trip with all my heart. I really hope to have the opportunity to accompany you on that meaningful journey.
If you are lucky enough to touch the Miss Vietnam 2024 crown, what is the first thing you want to do ?
If I am lucky enough to be awarded the title of Miss Vietnam 2024, I will carry out a community project with the spirit of 'When drinking water, remember its source', to express my deep gratitude to previous generations. I always keep in mind that the peaceful and free life that our young generation enjoys today does not come naturally. It is the result of the sacrifices of heroic martyrs.
Therefore, this project is extremely important to me. Through the project, I hope that the young generation will not only say thank you, but also be able to take practical actions together to preserve history, learn from the past and foster more responsibility for the future of the country.
Thank you Giang Thanh for this conversation and good luck on your journey to conquer the crown of Miss Vietnam 2024!
