Within the framework of the program, journalists and members of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association respectfully offered incense and expressed gratitude to the lecturers and students of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, and visited and viewed related documents and artifacts.
National Monument Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School is located in Bo Ra village, Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province. The journalism class opened in 1949 in the middle of the Viet Bac resistance zone and was named Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School by Uncle Ho to remember and follow the example of the patriotic veteran Huynh Thuc Khang. This was also the first journalism training facility of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press and also the only training facility during the resistance war against French colonialism.
From that school, famous names such as: Director Bang Chau, Director Tran Vu; writers and poets: Huu Mai, Tu Bich Hoang, Hai Nhu; journalists Thep Moi, Tran Kien, Mai Thanh Hai, Ly Thi Trung, Mai Cuong... have become veteran journalists in the Vietnamese revolutionary press.
Among the Quang Ninh journalists, there was a student of the first course of the School, journalist Nhu Mai, whose real name is Ngo Huy Binh, a former reporter for Cuu Quoc Newspaper who later moved to work for Vung Mo Newspaper and then Quang Ninh Newspaper (now Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center). On March 28, 2019, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 1182/QD-BVHTTDL to rank the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School as a National Monument.
Speaking at the incense offering ceremony, journalist Nguyen The Lam, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center, affirmed: this is an important relic that honors the great journalism legacy that President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations of journalists have left behind. Quang Ninh is also honored to have a journalist who was a student of the first class of the School. Quang Ninh journalists always respect and are grateful to previous generations of journalists.
