This year's Traffic Safety Competition in Da Nang City has a new format, rich content, and is enthusiastically cheered by thousands of students.

On the morning of November 30, the Traffic Safety Committee of Da Nang City coordinated with the Department of Transport, the Department of Education and Training and Grab Vietnam Company Limited to organize the Road Traffic Safety Competition in 2024.

The contest has 28 teams representing 28 high schools in Da Nang City. Each team has 5 students participating, including 4 official contestants and 1 reserve.

The competition takes place in 2 rounds, including a preliminary round to find the 7 teams with the highest results to enter the final round (expected on December 7) to compete for first, second and third prizes.

2-round format with quick multiple-choice test, questions with suggested answers and debate on the topic of traffic culture.

The contest contents include knowledge, skills in handling traffic situations, cultural behavior, and public bus systems. In particular, the debate on traffic culture is expected to equip each student to become a propagandist on traffic safety, contributing to building traffic culture and urban civilization.

Mr. Bui Hong Trung, Director of the Department of Transport, Deputy Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of Da Nang City, said that the contest aims to innovate the work of propaganda, dissemination andeducation of laws on traffic safety and order to people, especially high school students, to learn about the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order and the Road Law which will take effect from January 1, 2025.

The exam format is diverse, equipping students with knowledge of complying with legal regulations and skills to participate in safe traffic, raising awareness of compliance with traffic safety laws, propagating, disseminating and mobilizing students to participate in traffic by bus.

Students enhance their responsibility to protect themselves and the community

Mr. Bui Hong Trung added that with the theme "Respecting the law to build a safe traffic culture", the traffic culture aspects of the Traffic Safety Year 2024 are expressed through behaviors according to social standards, giving way, helping each other... of traffic participants.

It is also a habit of behaving in a civilized and legal manner, considering voluntary compliance with the law on ensuring traffic safety and order as a traditional ethical standard and a manifestation of modern civilization of people when participating in traffic.

Each round has 4 competing teams.

"Therefore, the Road Traffic Safety Competition comes to high schools to accompany students in learning about legal regulations on traffic safety and order, sharing knowledge and traffic culture so that each student can improve their personal responsibility in obeying the law and protecting their own safety and that of the community," said Mr. Bui Hong Trung.
