Early morning of February 7 (December 28), the North continued to experience fog and drizzle. Today is the last day of the humid spell in the region. The temperature during the day increased to 22-24 degrees Celsius, and the humidity was also high at over 85%.
This evening and tonight, a cold air mass will move down, affecting the weather in the Northeast region, then the North Central region, the Northwest region and some places in the Central Central region. Inland, strong northeast winds will be level 2-3, coastal areas will be level 3-4.
From February 8 (December 29), the Northeast region will turn cold, with some places experiencing severe cold with the lowest temperature of 11-13 degrees Celsius, and in mountainous areas 8-10 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Northwest and North Central regions will turn cold, with the lowest temperature of 15-17 degrees Celsius.
The cold air will help reduce humidity and end the dampness. People will welcome the last two days of the year of the Cat in cold and dry weather, with scattered rain but the amount is insignificant. In the highlands, the lowest temperature can be recorded below 5 degrees Celsius.

On February 10-11 (the first and second days of Tet), temperatures will increase slightly. Northerners can enjoy spring travel in the cold weather at night and early morning, with sunny days and the highest temperature of 21-24 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the area from Quang Tri to Binh Dinh will have scattered showers, with localized heavy rain and thunderstorms. Other areas in the Central region will celebrate Tet with some rain and cold weather.
In the Central Highlands and the South, the weather during Tet holiday is generally less rainy and sunny. In the Southeast, there may be heat waves above 35 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Agency warned that from the night of February 7, the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern East Sea will have strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8. Waves 2-3m high, rough seas, likely to affect the operation of ships and other activities.
To cope with the severe cold and strong winds at sea during the Lunar New Year, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control requested relevant localities to promptly notify and guide local authorities and people to proactively prevent.
In particular, the functional unit focuses on instructing people to ensure health, not to use honeycomb coal stoves to heat in closed rooms to avoid human casualties; prevent and protect livestock, poultry, aquatic products and agricultural production from the cold.
