According to information from Australian car magazine Drive, Kia Tasman will be positioned in the mid-size pickup segment, where names like Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger have a firm foothold. Tasman not only promises design but is also expected to bring strong and reliable performance.

The car is expected to use the same body-on-frame chassis as the second-generation Kia Mohave SUV. Under the hood is a 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, providing 199 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque.

This is the same engine as on the Kia Sorento and Kia Carnival models, but it is possible that Kia will tweak this engine to increase the capacity to over 200 horsepower and torque up to 500 Nm, to help Tasman compete with strong rivals in the segment.

Kia has spent months perfecting and testing the Tasman around the world , with much of the testing taking place in Australia, one of the most important markets for the pickup.

According to Kia, more than 1,777 detailed tests were carried out, with 18,000 evaluation cycles to ensure the Tasman's strong performance and durability.

This model has been promoted by the Korean car company for its ability to carry loads, pull goods, overcome difficult terrain, as well as wade through water. These features make the Kia Tasman a worthy choice for customers who love pickup trucks with strong off-road capabilities.

The Kia Tasman will be officially launched in the Middle East on October 29, ahead of the market's anticipation. Following the launch, the first Tasmans are expected to reach customers in the Korean, South African, Middle Eastern and Australian markets in mid-2025. Kia then plans to expand its distribution market to Africa and many Asian countries.
