The captain claims Man City are fighting to keep captain Ilkay Gundogan amid interest from Barca.
Gundogan's contract with the Premier League champions expires at the end of this month, amid reports the Germany midfielder has agreed a move to the Nou Camp.
“I hope Gundogan stays at Man City. We are still fighting for him to stay at the Etihad. We want Ilkay to stay.
Man City will do everything they can but we know Barca also want him.”
According to coach Pep Guardiola, although he wants to keep Gundogan, he will respect the decision of the Man City captain.
“If Barca sign Gundogan, they will have a great player. I know that coach Xavi called him many times. If Gundogan finally decides to come to Barca, I will tell him: Gundo, you will have a great time there.”
