Sharpen 'bright eyes, pure heart, sharp pen'

During my university years, studying the History of Vietnamese Journalism, I was very impressed with the poem of Mr. Do Chieu: "Carrying many boats without sinking/ Stabbing many wicked men without turning the pen". Nearly 20 years ago, when I returned to Bien Hoa - Dong Nai to live and work, every time I had the opportunity to pass by Dong Khoi Street, I always looked back to read the above poem engraved on a stone stele placed in front of the gate of Dong Nai Radio and Television Station. My heart was filled with many emotions about my profession...

Having a passion for political journalism

After more than 4 years of proactively developing a propaganda plan, the Fighting Against Wrong Viewpoints page with its main writers being 2 editors from the Editorial Department (including me) and a number of close collaborators has made certain marks in the political field of Dong Nai journalism.

In addition to implementing the weekly information and propaganda plan for the specialized page to ensure requirements and quality, I always focus on investing in series of articles that create highlights on the Fighting against Wrong Viewpoints page. In 3 consecutive years, 2022-2023-2024, 4 series of articles on the Fighting against Wrong Viewpoints page that I chaired and produced with my colleagues were all recognized as High-quality Journalistic Works by the Dong Nai Provincial Journalists Association; The above 4 series of articles all won central and local journalism awards.

It can be said that the articles published on this website regularly every week, as well as the annual series, have contributed to creating a mark for Dong Nai's political journalism genre; contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of information in implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo on "Strengthening the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation".

In that moment, I was able to work as a journalist, live on the heroic, dynamic, culturally rich land of Tran Bien for nearly 20 years, and contribute my small part to the political mission of Dong Nai Newspaper, as well as the revolutionary journalism career of the province.

Continue to study and practice

Over the years, in charge of writing the main topic of fighting against wrong views, I have regularly followed and researched information and sabotage activities deployed by hostile forces and political opportunists, from which I have researched sharp arguments and points to fight, clearly pointing out the slanderous and provocative content, thereby contributing to the failure of the hostile forces' plots and sabotage tricks. Also through monitoring, I have concluded that hostile forces closely follow the political - economic - social situation of Vietnam through official press channels, along with other sources of information from these subjects. Being quick to grasp this information helps hostile forces select and focus on negative news that people are interested in to distort and sabotage the Party's policies and guidelines, and the policies and laws of our State.

From that reality, in my opinion, to effectively fight against hostile forces, press agencies, journalists in general and especially journalists in this political field in particular, need to constantly study and practice to have bright eyes, pure hearts, and sharp pens. In particular, bright eyes are needed to be quick, and cannot be "slow" in clearly and promptly identifying the sabotage tricks of hostile forces. When hostile forces launch malicious media tricks, the revolutionary press must have timely articles to actively contribute to orienting public opinion and maintaining the ideological front.

The inner core is to be steadfast in political will, loyal to revolutionary journalism, firmly grasp and correctly implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, regulations of journalism, and serve the people.

To have a sharp pen, we need to constantly study and cultivate political theory, as well as real life experiences, to present convincing arguments and evidence to gradually defeat the dirty media tricks of hostile forces, while contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party, the State and the regime...
