“The international community is increasingly interested in exploring the Moon, and these new stamps will help raise awareness about lunar missions and the UN will use its influence to foster much-needed dialogue about future efforts,” said Aarti Holla-Maini, director of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs in Vienna, Austria.

Stamp enthusiasts can purchase the special stamps at UN headquarters in New York (USA), Geneva (Switzerland) and Vienna, as well as on the UN website.

In 2021, the UN General Assembly designated July 20 as International Moon Day to commemorate the day humans first set foot on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission.
