More than 70 booths from 60 countries and territories will participate in the 2024 International Food Festival taking place on December 7-8 at the Diplomatic Corps Area, 298 Kim Ma, Hanoi.
On the morning of November 21, the Department of Diplomatic Corps Services (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) held a press conference to inform about the 2024 International Food Festival. This is one of the annual events to promote cultural and culinary exchanges.
The 2024 Festival with the theme "Gastronomy of Unity - Connecting Cuisine" is not only an opportunity to introduce and promote the culinary culture of countries, but also an opportunity to promote and honor the cultural beauty of Vietnam, promote cultural diplomacy, enhance the national image and further expand and promote the spirit of international cooperation.
The 2024 International Food Festival will have the theme "Gastronomy of Unity - Connected Cuisine".
Mr. Hoang Thai Ha, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Diplomatic Service Department, Deputy Head of the Festival Organizing Committee said: "The 2024 International Food Festival will not only honor the richness and diversity of global cuisine but also emphasize cuisine as a "common language" - where people from different cultures find harmony.
Through each dish, we will not only share the quintessence of culinary flavors but also spread stories about its history, traditions and good values in each nation."
According to Mr. Hoang Thai Ha, unlike previous years, the 2024 International Food Festival will not only introduce Vietnam's unique dishes but also bring a unique culinary experience journey with about 130 food stalls from 40 embassies, international organizations, cultural centers, and the Department of Foreign Affairs of provinces and cities, units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and businesses.
There will be elaborate food demonstrations, exciting beer festival activities, game activities to receive gifts from sponsors and countless unique experiences such as: culinary passport, cuisine on a plate, five-continent kitchen...
Vietnamese cuisine will be the main dishes at this year's Festival.
"In particular, Vietnamese booths will introduce and promote many traditional dishes, including pho rolls, stir-fried pho, spring rolls, and sausages... In addition, the cuisine of other countries will include Russian grilled dishes, Italian pasta, and French dishes made from poultry and fish...
This will be a bridge connecting cultures through each dish, from traditional flavors to modern culinary creations, while honoring the diplomatic harmony of countries together," Mr. Hoang Ha emphasized.
Culinary artist Le Thi Thiet, a member of the Organizing Committee, added that the 2024 International Food Festival is not only a multi-cultural "feast" but also tells attendees emotional stories through culinary dishes from many countries and regions.
“In particular, Vietnamese culinary culture will be a highlight, demonstrating the elevation of the rich flavors of dishes. Thereby, both preserving tradition and being creative to suit international friends.
Hopefully, every participant of the festival will feel the blended flavors, creating connections between cultures through interesting stories about cuisine," said artisan Le Thi Thiet.
