Plan to protect Vietnamese citizens in conflict areas in the Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to direct Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt concurrently serving as the State of Palestine to closely monitor the situation in conflict areas, coordinate closely with relevant agencies to deploy citizen protection plans and ensure the safety of Vietnamese citizens in conflict areas when necessary.

On the morning of October 23, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc , Head of the Steering Committee for Citizen Protection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee to discuss the issue of protecting Vietnamese citizens in conflict areas in the face of the current escalating tensions in the Middle East.

At the meeting, Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, concurrently serving as the State of Palestine, reported on the situation in their respective areas, providing a basis for assessment, forecasting and developing plans to protect citizens in the coming time.

Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc affirmed that ensuring the safety of lives and property of Vietnamese citizens in conflict areas is the top priority of the Government . In order to effectively and promptly implement citizen protection work, assessing and forecasting the situation and proactively preparing citizen protection plans are important and urgent.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to direct Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt concurrently serving as the State of Palestine to closely monitor the situation in conflict areas, urgently review information about Vietnamese citizens in the host country, and closely coordinate with local authorities and relevant domestic agencies to deploy citizen protection plans and support measures to ensure the safety of Vietnamese citizens in conflict areas when necessary.

Previously, on October 15, due to the complicated developments of the conflict in Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended that Vietnamese citizens avoid going to Israel and evacuate people and property to a third country or return to Vietnam.
