The 260th birth anniversary and 205th death anniversary of Great Poet Nguyen Du will take place in November 2025.

According to Plan No. 381-KH/TU dated May 20, 2025 of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee on organizing activities to celebrate the 260th anniversary of the birth (1765 - 2025), commemorate the 205th anniversary of the death (September 16, 1820 - September 16, 2025) of the Great Poet Nguyen Du and Plan No. 305/KH-UBND dated June 13, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the 260th anniversary of the birth, commemorate the 205th anniversary of the death of the Great Poet Nguyen Du, the celebration is expected to take place in November 2025.

The celebration is an occasion to honor the life, career and great contributions of the Great Poet Nguyen Du to Vietnamese and world literature and culture; to educate cultural traditions and national pride for generations, especially the young generation. This is also an activity in response to UNESCO's honor for the Great Poet Nguyen Du. At the same time, to promote and introduce the cultural values of Ha Tinh homeland to the people of the whole country and international friends, creating a favorable environment to promote cultural values associated with exploiting tourism and services, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.

The commemorative activities are organized to ensure solemnity, meaning, practicality, effectiveness, and suitability to reality, creating a wide spread among all classes of people and international friends.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and delegates visited the exhibition introducing the topic "Great Poet Nguyen Du through Nguyen Dynasty woodblock documents" at the 204th death anniversary of the Great Poet (September 2024).

According to the plan, the celebration activities will take place in Ha Tinh City and Nghi Xuan District. In particular, the official celebration will be held at Thanh Sen Square or the Provincial Center for Culture, Cinema and Tourism Promotion (Ha Tinh City). Before that, the incense and flower offering ceremony will take place at Nguyen Du Relic Site (Tien Dien Town, Nghi Xuan).

Along with the main ceremony, the anniversary also has contents and programs such as: folk art performances associated with Nguyen Du and Truyen Kieu; exhibitions and displays of publications about Nguyen Du, Truyen Kieu and Ha Tinh culture; making reports and documentaries about Nguyen Du...
