On the morning of June 20, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), a delegation of outstanding journalists led by Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia offered incense to commemorate Uncle Ho at House 67 in the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, emphasized that the ceremony is an opportunity for journalists to express their respect and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - the founder of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

Exactly a century ago, on June 21, 1925 in Guangzhou (China), he founded Thanh Nien newspaper, marking the birth of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism - a journalism line for revolutionary ideals, serving the Fatherland and the people.

Since then, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has accompanied the nation through every historical period, serving as an important bridge between the Party, the State and the people; making important contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

Especially during the two resistance wars, more than 500 journalists heroically sacrificed their lives, hundreds of people were disabled for life - these are proofs of the brave spirit and strong will of the Vietnamese revolutionary press.

The past century has also witnessed the remarkable growth of revolutionary journalism. From secret handwritten newspapers, today’s Vietnamese journalism has transformed dramatically, integrating all modern forms to meet the demands of the digital age.

Today, the press continues to be a pioneer in propaganda work, reflecting reality, spreading examples of good people and good deeds, arousing the spirit of solidarity and the aspiration for national development.

At the same time, the press is also facing many challenges, including pressure to compete for information in the digital media environment and the spread of false information on social networks.

This also poses an urgent need to improve education on revolutionary ideals, strengthen management, and create a mechanism to support the development of a team of professional journalists with political will and professional ethics.

The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association stated that the streamlining of the organization and arrangement of the press system according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW is being vigorously implemented. This is the time for the press to comprehensively innovate, streamline, become more professional, adapt to digital transformation and international integration, and create a new face and stature for the country's press.

Today's ceremony of reporting achievements to Uncle Ho demonstrates the continuation of the glorious tradition of revolutionary journalism, maintaining "a bright mind, a pure heart, a sharp pen", successfully completing the mission entrusted by the Party, State and people; contributing to building a rich, strong, democratic, prosperous, civilized and happy country in the new era of national development.
