Specifically, from June 25 to 28, 2025, nearly 9,300 candidates in Lao Cai province will take the national high school graduation exam - an important event for students andthe education sector. Along with the forecast of scattered thunderstorms, the risk of lightning strikes, and local power outages, ensuring continuous power supply for exam sites has become a task that PC Lao Cai has assigned a "special priority" level.

According to Mr. Tran Thanh Duyet - Deputy Director of PC Lao Cai: "Since the fourth quarter of 2024, the company has developed an investment, repair, and backup plan to ensure a stable power source for the entire year of 2025. In particular, for important events such as the national high school graduation exam, we have developed a detailed plan, clearly assigned tasks to each exam site, ensuring a continuous 24/7 power source during the entire exam period."

Accordingly, PC Lao Cai has completed 19/35 projects to renovate and upgrade the power grid by the end of May 2025 with a total value of more than 88.4 billion VND. The projects are concentrated in areas with rapidly increasing loads such as Lao Cai city, Sa Pa, Bao Thang - which is also the location of key exam sites. In addition, the entire medium and high voltage power grid has been inspected, insulated, and equipment defects have been fixed, especially at main lines, large transformer stations, switching equipment and reclosers.

The company has established a Steering Committee for power supply for the exam, set up a standby team to handle incidents from the company level to the district power unit, ensuring timely handling when there are unusual situations. The electricity sector has also coordinated with the Department of Education and Training, the People's Committees of the districts to monitor the power supply system at the test printing and grading points. Mr. Duyet affirmed: " From the experience of ensuring power for the recent 10th grade entrance exam, PC Lao Cai has set the highest level of readiness for high school. The entire plan has been completed, supplies and backup equipment are fully available, there will be no rotating power outages during the exam period."

Electricity builds plans to avoid being passive

Lao Cai province organized 27 examination sites with 399 official examination rooms, serving 9,271 candidates (including 345 independent candidates). Examination sites in Lao Cai city, Sa Pa, and Bao Thang are assessed to have high risk of overload due to the large concentration of candidates, need to supplement backup power and carefully check the switching equipment.

In mountainous areas with complex terrain such as Muong Khuong, Simacai, Bac Ha... local power companies have proactively coordinated with the Examination Steering Committee and schools to carefully check the electrical system and arrange backup generators. In Muong Khuong alone, on the afternoon of June 23, 3 backup generators were installed for 3 examination sites.

In Van Ban district, according to Mr. Dao Ngoc Duy - Deputy Director of Van Ban Electricity, on the afternoon of June 23, the units completed the inspection of the electrical system and arranged 6 backup generators for 3 schools (2 generators each), of which 5 generators were borrowed from other units. This year, Van Ban has 990 candidates taking the exam, a slight increase compared to 2024 (974 candidates).

In Sa Pa town, the installation of 2 backup generators at 2 examination sites was completed on June 22, ensuring proactive power supply in all situations. In Bao Yen district, 3 generators were arranged for 3 schools on the afternoon of June 23. In Bao Thang district, on the afternoon of June 23 and the morning of June 24, the unit will install backup generators at 3 schools. Lao Cai city plans to complete the installation of 7 generators for 7 examination sites in the area on June 24. Switching devices, switching devices, and intermediate transformer stations have also been checked and periodically maintained in June.

The remaining units in Lao Cai province are also urgently completing plans to install generators at the remaining examination sites, ensuring that no examination site lacks backup power during the entire examination period. Other units are also urgently installing generators at the remaining examination sites, ensuring continuous power supply throughout the examination period.

PC Lao Cai is determined to accompany and ensure a safe and continuous power source, contributing significantly to the success of the 2025 national high school graduation exam in Lao Cai province.
