Lao Cai: Heavy rain causes landslides, cutting off traffic on the road to Sa Pa

Due to heavy rain lasting from the night of June 30 to the morning of July 1, landslides appeared on Provincial Road 155 (Lao Cai-Sa Pa), causing traffic disruption.

Landslides on Provincial Road 155 caused soil and rocks to spill onto the road section at Km12+600, National Highway 4D, Lao Cai-Sa Pa BOT Toll Station area, cutting off traffic.

In addition to causing traffic jams on National Highway 4D, landslides also damaged many items of the Lao Cai-Sa Pa BOT Toll Station.

Immediately after the landslide occurred, the authorities deployed manpower and equipment to urgently overcome the consequences. However, due to the large volume of soil and rock at the landslide site, the recovery work encountered many difficulties.

It is expected that by today (July 1), the units will be able to clear the road step 1.
