Responding to information about students lacking schools, Dak Lak province leaders said that in order to ensure conditions for nearly 3,000 students to enter grade 10 of the regulareducation system, in the short term, the Provincial Party Committee directed the Provincial People's Committee and related units to balance and allocate more funds and support the policy of continuing education centers and vocational education centers to open more classes and contract high school teachers in the area to teach. In the long term, in addition to further investment in expanding facilities, the provincial teaching staff will implement the method of examination or multi-dimensional selection to ensure fairness in choosing schools according to students' learning abilities.
3,000 junior high school graduates in Dak Lak face many difficulties in vocational training after training stream
Mr. Pham Minh Tan, Standing Deputy Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee said: " The upcoming direction of the province is to expand public schools and secondly, we must also consider the form of admission and consider many other forms of subjects to avoid the situation where students who meet the requirements are not able to attend public schools or schools according to their wishes ."
It is known that in the 2022-2023 school year, Dak Lak province has over 29,000 students graduating from junior high school. To date, about 23,300 students have been admitted to grade 10 (including public and private schools), accounting for more than 77%. There are still 6,600 students who have not been admitted to grade 10. Of these, there are about 3,600 targets for grade 10 in the regular education system. The remaining nearly 3,000 students still do not have a school to study. Because currently many districts do not have schools for them to learn vocational training or culture. Students also face many difficulties in accessing vocational training schools nationwide.
Explaining the fact that nearly 3,000 students do not have a school to study, Mr. Do Tuong Hiep - Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training - said that enrollment in grade 10 high school is carried out according to the Career Education and Student Orientation Program in general education for the period 2018 - 2025 (Project 522).
Accordingly, 70% of students after graduating from junior high school will enter high school, the rest will study a program that combines vocational training and general education. The Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training admitted that there were shortcomings in recruiting 10th grade students based on the selection process and regional classification, leading to students only being able to choose one public school to apply to.
