Listen to scientists from Ho Chi Minh City National University advise on medical science topics and tasks

(DN) - On June 9, the Department of Science and Technology had a working session with the Department of Health, Ho Chi Minh City National University (HCMC) and a number of major hospitals in the area to listen to experts and scientists from Ho Chi Minh City National University advise on proposals for ordering provincial-level science and technology tasks in the health sector in 2025.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology Ta Quang Truong chaired the meeting. Also attending were Director of the Department of Health Le Quang Trung and deputy directors of the Departments of Science and Technology, Health and representatives of universities and institutes under the Ho Chi Minh City National University.

At the meeting, the stakeholders discussed the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of healthcare and public health care. The focus was on discussing and consulting on specific issues to apply AI in practice at some local hospitals; practical solutions to improve the quality of local healthcare; and issues of data connection with hospitals, institutes/schools, and scientific research units on AI application solutions in the healthcare sector.

In addition, scientists from Ho Chi Minh City National University briefly introduced a number of proposed topics and scientific and technological tasks in the medical field that can be applied in Dong Nai.

At the meeting, leaders of the Departments of Science and Technology and Health said that the application of high technology, research, and implementation of scientific and technological tasks in the health sector must come from the actual needs of Dong Nai. The selection and determination of scientific topics for research and transfer must ensure focus, efficiency, and meet the needs of the locality.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology Ta Quang Truong shared that relevant parties need to pay attention to the issue of data connection, as well as build a co-chairing mechanism for appropriate research, transfer and application. Localities need to benefit from the values that scientific and technological topics and tasks bring in the research and transfer process. For local topics "ordered" by Ho Chi Minh City National University, units and hospitals together with Ho Chi Minh City National University and related departments and branches need to have exchanges and research carefully to determine the specific scope and content of the topic to ensure feasibility, suitability with the actual needs and application conditions of the units, hospitals and localities in need...
