According to CIMB Vietnam's current deposit interest rate schedule, applicable to standard customers, the 6-month deposit interest rate has decreased sharply by 0.5%/year, down to 4.5%/year.
Bank interest rates for 9-month and 12-month terms both decreased by 0.4%/year, to 4.7%/year and 4.9%/year, respectively.
CIMB Vietnam keeps the savings interest rates for the remaining terms unchanged: 1-month term is 3.8%/year, 2-month term is 4%/year and 3-month term is 4.2%/year.
The interest rate adjustment is similar to the bank interest rate schedule, applied to priority customer deposit accounts.
Accordingly, the VND deposit interest rate applied to priority customers is 4%/year for 1-month term, 4.2%/year for 2-month term, and 4.5%/year for 3-month term.
For deposit interest rates of terms from 6 months or more for priority customers, CIMB Vietnam applies interest rates at two different levels: under 10 billion VND and from 10 billion VND or more.
Accordingly, the 6-month deposit interest rates applied to these two types of accounts are 4.6% and 4.7%/year, respectively; the 9-month interest rates are 4.9% and 5%/year, respectively; while the highest mobilization interest rates applied to the 12-month term are 5% and 5.1%/year, respectively.

In 2024, CIMB Vietnam will increase its charter capital to VND 4,013.2 billion, operating in the field of providing banking services to individual and corporate customers.
This is the only foreign bank to adjust deposit interest rates since the beginning of June.
For domestic commercial banks, from the beginning of June 2025 to now, 5 banks have adjusted their deposit interest rates. Of which, HDBank and GPBank increased their deposit interest rates; LPBank, Bac A Bank , and VPBank reduced their deposit interest rates.
