Returning to visit La Gi town one afternoon, the warm green space brings wild beauty with blue sea and white sand, lingering in the hearts of any visitor who has set foot here.

La Gi is completely free from the hustle and bustle of the city, here there is only peace and simplicity that captivates people's hearts. La Gi has a 28 km long coastline with many beautiful beaches such as Cam Binh, Tan Hai, Doi Duong... harmonious scenery, fresh climate. Coming to La Gi, we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in peaceful nature, walk on the white sand to enjoy the cool breeze, soak in the cool water of the blue sea. La Gi also has tourist attractions that easily captivate people's hearts such as: Dinh Thay Thim, Nganh Tam Tan, Hon Ba... La Gi Port is one of the largest fishing ports in Binh Thuan province.

From a town in the district capital of Ham Tan district, it was upgraded and expanded to a type IV urban area and officially established La Gi town in 2005, then La Gi separated from Ham Tan district (old). In 2017, La Gi was officially recognized as a type III urban area, the second largest urban area in Binh Thuan province.

… How can I forget the memories of my life when my family settled down on the land of Tan An commune, the old Ham Tan district at that time (now Tan An ward, La Gi town). After the country was unified, my parents moved the whole family here to live, starting memorable days on the newly reclaimed land. At that time, the population was still sparse, most of them were people from other places and all lived by farming. The initial difficulties and confusion seemed to follow our family throughout the long journey. With the efforts of physical labor and daily sweat on the rather barren land along the streams at the foot of the hills. Here, according to the season, this land was cultivated entirely with manual labor tools and only depended on rainwater, the soil was poor in fertility, had a high potential for leaching and had low activity. The main food crops here are sweet potatoes, cassava, rice is very rare on this land lacking in fertility (people call it upland land). Life continues, we brothers and sisters gradually grow up, love each other and mature in the care and education of our parents on this beloved land. I still remember the first days when our family came to settle in the new land, my father said: "You children try to rise up and live by your own labor on this land of Tan An, your parents believe that our family will succeed from your determination in the future". The days of living with the soil, relying on food sources from the potato and cassava fields (cassava), I will always remember the bowls of vegetable soup with just a little salt and MSG, the plates of long tong fish that we caught in small streams and with the skillful hands of my mother, the meals were still very delicious, warm in the pouring rain with the whole family gathered inside the hut on the hill...

… Returning to La Gi, this afternoon I stopped by the town cemetery and lit incense sticks at the graves of my father and mother. I thought: “Life is always changing day by day, but the love and memories of our parents will never disappear”. I will always remember the words my father told me from the first days I set foot on this new land and today:

… “Please smile from the golden spring.

Dad, your children have grown up to be good people.

Thank you very much to La Gi land! Human love has breathed into the souls of those who are far away from home a cool breeze of life. We still cherish, love and remember that feeling, my parents and in it, my hometown La Gi - a land of human love - that I will never forget.

Hello La Gi town, a beautiful town, has brought my family and all the people here a peaceful and happy life.
