Ms. Nhung's family is one of 1,850 meritorious families, poor households and other difficult cases in Dong Nai that received support from the State to build and repair houses, so that they can have a new house to reunite on the occasion of National Day this year.

Build your dream home together

In Dong Nai, there is a common point that in the process of building and repairing houses for meritorious families, poor households and other difficult cases according to regulations, the province combines initial resources with the "3 on-site" model, including: family, clan, and community. Thanks to that, the value of each house after completion is always higher than the initial support level, especially the houses implemented in the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Dong Nai Province in 2025.

Specifically, the funding to support house construction for poor households, other difficult cases and families with revolutionary contributions is 80 and 120 million VND respectively. However, the value of each house after completion is always between 100 and over 200 million VND.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said: This result was achieved thanks to the fact that during the process of building and repairing houses, the province called on the whole society to join hands to build houses for policy families, meritorious people, and the poor with the motto: whoever has something helps, whoever has little contributes little, whoever has a lot contributes a lot, whoever has property helps property, whoever has merit helps merit.

Through this, people from all walks of life have actively contributed their manpower and resources to complete 1,850 solid houses with a total cost of nearly 134 billion VND. Of this, over 117 billion VND was mobilized, the rest was contributed by families and a part of the state budget.

Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of KN Holdings Group (Phuoc Tan Ward) Le Nu Thuy Duong shared: In the past time, the unit has joined hands with Dong Nai province to implement social security programs. Particularly from the beginning of 2025 until now, the group has supported 55 billion VND to respond to the construction and repair of solid houses.

In addition, the commune-level government has proactively connected local resources. At the same time, each family benefiting from the policy has contributed to the process of building a solid house.

This September, Mr. Ho Hoang Son, a particularly disadvantaged man in Ta Lai commune, was able to celebrate National Day in a solid house. The sponsor provided 80 million VND to build a house for Mr. Son; the local authorities mobilized additional construction materials and household appliances, and neighbors helped transport soil and rocks to level the ground for free for the homeowner. Thanks to that, Mr. Son's house, after completion, is worth over 100 million VND.

National Day joy comes to every family

Thanks to the social security policy, the cooperation from the community, and the initiative of each household, the joy of National Day September 2nd this year for each family receiving a solid house is even more meaningful.

Representatives of provincial departments, sponsors and coach Park Hang-seo performed the ceremony of handing over a solid house to the family of Mr. Tho Thoai, Choro ethnic group (residing in Xuan Que commune).

The family of 4 members of Mr. Tho Thoai (Choro ethnic group, residing in Xuan Que commune) moved into their new house on August 18, 2025. Mr. Tho Thoai shared: “The house is located deep in the middle of cajuput and rubber gardens and far from the neighbors' houses, the dirt road leading to my house is very difficult to travel. However, the local authorities and sponsors came and went many times to supervise the construction and celebrate with my family on the day the house was handed over. This is a great joy for my family on this year's Independence Day.”

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Xuan Que Commune, Bui Thi Hai Ly, said: Thoai's house cost more than 200 million VND to build, of which 120 million VND was sponsored by provincial departments and agencies, and the rest was contributed by family and relatives. In addition, when they learned that Thoai was building a house, neighbors donated household appliances and food.

In April 2025, Binh Phuoc province (old) and in June 2025, Dong Nai province (old) completed the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, 6 and 4 months earlier than the Prime Minister's regulations, respectively. At the same time, the province also supported Son La province with 119 billion VND to implement this program.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuoc (living in Tan Phu commune) said: The family has 4 members, her husband and wife are often sick, and their 2 children are still young. She and her husband receive jobs from employers who need them, but due to illness, they have more days off than working. Therefore, when they have a new house, the family is very happy because their dream of settling down has come true and this is the motivation for the whole family to strive to rise up.

To continue bringing the joy of settling down to meritorious families, poor households and other difficult cases, according to Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc: In the coming time, departments, branches, and localities will continue to review to not miss cases that need assistance in building or repairing solid houses according to regulations; mobilize all resources to implement poverty reduction programs, including building solid houses. Beneficiaries of poverty reduction policies need to have the will to be self-reliant in life.
