In 2024, Hai Duong injected over 22,000 doses of vaccine to prevent African swine fever.

On the morning of January 15, at the conference to deploy the livestock and aquaculture production plan and animal disease prevention in 2025, the leader of the Hai Duong Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine said that by the end of 2024, 7 out of 12 districts, towns and cities in the province had deployed over 22,000 doses of African swine fever vaccine for pigs.

In Hai Duong, disease prevention in livestock is considered important with many solutions, so the above diseases are well controlled. The rate of livestock vaccinated against diseases in both spring and autumn crops is 85% or more, contributing to the safety of livestock.

Delegates attending the conference on implementing the livestock production, aquaculture and animal disease prevention plan for 2025 in Hai Duong said that animal diseases in the past year were well controlled.

In 2024, despite the impact of storm Yagi , the number of livestock and poultry in Hai Duong (buffalo, cow, pig, chicken, duck...) will still grow from 0.8-5.8% compared to 2023, meat output will grow from 1.1-7.4%.

However, there is still a risk of outbreaks of diseases in livestock. African swine fever is still circulating in 14 provinces and cities. Meanwhile, in Hai Duong, there are still 5 districts and cities that have not vaccinated against this disease in their pigs.

The leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong province requested localities in the province to synchronously and effectively implement solutions to prevent animal diseases from the beginning of the year. Localities that have not yet vaccinated against African swine fever need to urgently remove difficulties to implement.

Before March 20, districts, towns, and cities must register the number of vaccines for the 2025 spring crop to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine. From March 25 to April 15, the entire province will begin vaccinating pigs against diseases...
