The 60,000-square-meter Kia Gwangmyeong EVO plant is Hyundai’s first plant dedicated solely to electric vehicles. This is not only a technological advancement, but also a commitment to developing environmentally friendly vehicles and focusing on employee benefits.

According to the plan, the factory will start producing new electric models such as Kia EV3 and EV4 with a total capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles per year. In particular, the EV4 model will be a completely new electric sedan, expected to bring a completely different experience to users.

Kia expects to produce the first electric sedans from this factory in the first half of 2025.

Kia plans to produce its first electric sedans from the plant in the first half of 2025, with the EV4 expected to start at $35,000 to $40,000. This model, along with the EV3, will share technology and design with the Kia EV9 premium electric SUV.

Along with the inauguration of the Kia Gwangmyeong EVO factory, Hyundai Group is also preparing to reopen the Metaplant America (HMGMA) factory in Georgia, USA this coming October.

With an investment of 7.6 million USD, this factory will produce the 2025 Ioniq 5 electric car model, improved with a longer operating range than the current version, marking Hyundai's strong development in the North American market.
