Ms. H'Gung's family, B'Duong hamlet, Ta Dung commune has been one of the poor households in the commune for many years, partly due to the small land area, partly due to the lack of technical knowledge and experience in caring for coffee trees. Through the propaganda and mobilization of commune and hamlet officials, Ms. H'Gung has actively participated in training courses and transferred science and technology in caring for coffee and durian trees... Since then, Ms. H'Gung has proactively applied the knowledge learned to her family's crops and gradually increased productivity.
With the motto of working while accumulating experience and expanding the area, up to now, Ms. H'Gung's family has about 3 hectares of coffee mixed with durian with an income of about 200 million VND/year. Currently, Ms. H'Gung has not only escaped poverty but also strived to become a well-off household in the locality. "Although I have escaped poverty, I always try and take care of my work to improve my economy . I proactively learn from the experiences of other households, and at the same time encourage my children to work hard and do other jobs to diversify their income sources," Ms. H'Gung said.
Ta Dung commune has more than 22,700 people, of which ethnic minorities account for about 18,300. With many synchronous solutions, up to now, the whole commune still has about 426 poor households and 281 near-poor households.
Ms. H'Gung is one of the poor households that have successfully escaped poverty thanks to changing their mindset, way of thinking, and way of doing things in economic development, especially self-reliance, not relying on support from all levels and sectors.
In fact, to promote socio-economic development and reduce poverty in ethnic minority areas, Ta Dung commune has effectively integrated capital from three national target programs, opened vocational training classes in cultivation and animal husbandry, etc. Socio -political organizations such as the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have also implemented many appropriate solutions to help people escape poverty sustainably. The locality focuses on supporting loans, transferring science and technology, supporting livelihood models, etc. for farmers and poor households to invest in production development; supporting housing construction to "settle down and make a living"... Propaganda work to raise people's awareness of self-reliance and self-reliance in labor and production is carried out regularly and continuously.
In order to achieve high results in poverty reduction, in the coming time, Ta Dung commune will focus on effectively deploying resources from national target programs to support production, residential land, and housing for poor households and ethnic minorities. The locality will also continue to provide vocational training; establish groups of households to help each other develop the economy; promote the role of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in propagating and mobilizing people to raise their awareness, be proactive, and proactive in economic development, avoiding the situation of waiting and relying on the government...
“Propaganda and mobilization to raise people’s awareness of self-reliance and self-improvement play a key role. Because only poverty reduction from the mind can ensure sustainability, especially among ethnic minorities. Therefore, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations will strengthen propaganda and mobilize union members, association members and people to change their thinking and awareness about economic development and sustainable poverty reduction,” said Mr. Nguyen Ton Dong Khoa - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ta Dung commune.
