Commencement of resettlement project to serve the North-South high-speed railway project in Ba Don ward

QTO - On the morning of August 19, in Van Dong village, the People's Committee of Ba Don ward held a groundbreaking ceremony for the resettlement project to serve the site clearance of the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of Ba Don ward, Quang Tri province. Attending were Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ba Don ward Phan Manh Hung; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, agencies, units and local authorities.

The resettlement project to serve the site clearance of the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of Ba Don ward, Quang Tri province was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 764 dated August 7, 2025. The project area has a total area of 17.5 hectares, with an investment of more than 300 billion VND, with synchronous technical infrastructure, including items such as: Leveling; roads; embankments; water supply and fire prevention and fighting; rainwater drainage; wastewater drainage; return ditches; electricity supply and lighting; marking of plots and other necessary auxiliary items.

The project creates 248 resettlement plots, including: 145 resettlement plots for 145 households affected by the project (average area 250m2/plot); 78 plots eligible for land compensation (average area 250m2/plot) and 25 reserved plots for households with members eligible for compensation.

The implementation of the Project on construction of resettlement areas to serve the site clearance of the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of Ba Don ward, Quang Tri province with the goal of handing over the site on schedule for the project; at the same time, creating a land fund to arrange the return of works and houses whose land was recovered by the project. Thereby, contributing to the formation of a new, concentrated residential area with synchronous technical infrastructure in a modern direction, in line with the urban development planning orientation, ensuring the rights of the people in accordance with the legal provisions on compensation, support and resettlement.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ba Don Ward Phan Manh Hung suggested that the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward should continue to implement the project's procedures and processes in accordance with regulations; strengthen supervision and direction of the consulting and construction units to ensure the project's progress, quality, and absolute labor safety; departments and branches actively support and guide to remove difficulties in terms of expertise and mechanisms; the people of Ba Don Ward continue to accompany, share and support the local government for the long-term goal of serving the common interest, developing synchronous infrastructure, improving the quality of life...
