Sweet fruit of cultivation
Regarding cultivation, the granting of growing area codes has achieved many remarkable results in recent times. Up to now, the whole province has had 163 growing areas granted codes, with an area of over 5,171 hectares, of which 65 growing area codes directly serve export. This is the "passport" for Khanh Hoa agricultural products to enter demanding markets. For example, in 2024, the output of fresh durian exported to China is estimated at 8,000 - 10,000 tons. Khanh Hoa mangoes are also present in Australia, the United States, Dubai and the EU with an output of about 300 - 500 tons; aloe vera has an export value of 2.5 million USD in high-end markets such as: Korea, Japan, the United States and Europe.

To be granted a code, compliance with regulations on safe production is a mandatory condition. Along with that, the area of high-tech agricultural production and organic agriculture is constantly increasing. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the area of high-tech agriculture has increased by 426 hectares, bringing the current total area to more than 1,000 hectares, of which the area certified organic according to international standards (USA, Japan, EU) reached nearly 5,600 hectares.
In the context of integration, quality and identity are vital factors, investing in high technology, organic production and complying with safety standards such as VietGAP or organic certifications is no longer an option, but an inevitable path to increase the value of agricultural products. The success of mango, durian or aloe vera has proven that with the right direction of the State and the efforts of people and businesses, Khanh Hoa agricultural products are fully capable of competing fairly in the global market.
Regarding crops, in addition to tens of thousands of hectares of high-quality rice and rice seeds, the total area of fruit trees is estimated to have reached over 25,000 hectares. Regarding crop conversion, in the past 8 months, the whole province has converted over 735 hectares of crops. Of which, nearly 300 hectares of ineffective rice with difficulties in irrigation water have been converted to growing vegetables and beans; the rest have been converted from mixed gardens to growing fruit trees.
Stable marine economy
As a province with a long coastline and great potential, Khanh Hoa identifies the marine economy as an important growth driver. Up to now, the whole province has nearly 1,200 hectares of aquaculture and more than 2.66 million m³ of marine cages, mainly for fish, lobster and mollusc farming. In the first 6 months of 2025, marine aquaculture output is estimated at 10,729.1 tons, an increase of 78% over the same period in 2024. This breakthrough growth has a strong mark of technology. Many modern marine farming models such as: Lobsters, oysters, and marine fish in round cages according to Norwegian standards are being effectively implemented. The province's proactive issuance of a plan to implement a pilot project to develop high-tech marine farming is a boost to accompany fishermen in aquaculture.

Along with promoting aquaculture, the province has also directed to strengthen and strictly implement measures against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU). Up to now, 100% of fishing vessels with a length of 6m or more have been registered and updated in the national database, 99.72% have been licensed to exploit, and 99.54% of fishing vessels subject to mandatory installation of vessel monitoring equipment (VMS). In the first 6 months of the year, the province did not record any cases of fishing vessels violating the law. This result not only contributes to the country's efforts to remove the "yellow card" of the European Commission, but also directly protects the achievements of the industry, contributing to bringing the seafood export turnover to 408.6 million USD.
Focus on perfecting industry connectivity
Along with the key tasks, from now until the end of the year, the agricultural sector will focus on completely handling 178 fishing vessels that are disconnected from VMS to ensure the monitoring system operates 100% smoothly. At the same time, the provincial staff will resolutely remove legal barriers to promptly approve and implement the Project on management and development of marine aquaculture areas in the southern region of the province, creating synchronous development throughout the area. In the forestry sector, the province will soon complete the investigation and inventory of forests and resolve difficulties in developing sustainable forest management plans to create an important legal basis for both protecting and developing the economy under the forest canopy, especially ecotourism. Another key task is to accelerate the disbursement of development investment capital and career capital for national target programs. In particular, it is necessary to improve the disbursement rate of the sustainable poverty reduction program (33%) and the career capital of the new rural program (30.3%) in the last months of the year so that support policies can soon come into effect, helping people improve their livelihoods and develop production.

In early August, working with the agricultural sector, Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that from now until the end of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment should pay more attention to promoting the potential and strengths of fruit and essential oil growing areas; focus on improving the quality of agricultural production, large-scale production, building brands, linking consumption and markets; focus on promoting the processing of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to increase economic value. Regarding aquaculture development, resolutely handle all issues related to IUU, ensuring compliance with regulations. Focus on high-tech, offshore aquaculture, with linkages. Regarding new rural construction, focus on reviewing and compiling statistics on the current situation after the merger, in which focusing on implementing the OCOP program, developing livelihoods for people in rural areas. In addition, the sector also needs to pay attention to proactively responding to storms at the end of the year, ensuring the safety of irrigation works.
The merger of administrative units has created a more diverse, larger and larger picture of Khanh Hoa agriculture. The key tasks of the sector have also been fully and effectively implemented after the merger. Developing high-tech agriculture and promoting marine aquaculture continue to be identified by the sector as key tasks to increase production value, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
