On the evening of August 19 at Dong Anh Stadium (Hanoi), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team (ranked 22nd in the world ) played an international friendly match with the Kenyan women's team (ranked 23rd in the world).

This is also the last friendly match between Vietnam and Kenya before the two teams go to Thailand to participate in the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship taking place at the end of August.

Although the home team played without their number 1 striker Bich Tuyen, the Vietnamese girls still played quite solidly, defended well, had a diverse and agile playing style, and the coaching staff also made changes in the sets to create friendly competition conditions for the players.

With Thanh Thuy, Lam Oanh, Kieu Trinh, Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Khanh Dang on the field, the Vietnamese women's team created a good game and had a good start when they won 25-21 in set 1.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students did even better in set 2, creating a fairly large gap in scores before winning 25-14.

In the next 2 sets, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet made changes to create friendly competition conditions for the athletes, but the team still won with a score of 25-19.

Defeating Kenya 4-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-19, 25-19), the Vietnamese women's team had the best possible start for the 2025 World Championship.

Tomorrow, August 20, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students will leave for Phuket, Thailand to participate in the 2025 World Championship.

According to the schedule in Group G, the Vietnamese women's team will open against Poland (August 23), then meet Germany (August 25), and Kenya (August 27).
