Small joy, big meaning
The model of "Love-Sharing Wardrobe" has been implemented by the Women's Union of Residential Group 1 Phuoc Trung since March 2019. Currently, the wardrobe is located at the corner of Cao Thang - Huynh Tinh Cua Street (Nam Nha Trang Ward). Over the past 6 years, this has been a familiar address for many people in difficult circumstances to come to choose suitable items for their families. Ms. Le Thi Tu (Nam Nha Trang Ward) has cancer and is taking medicine every day. The family's economy depends on the income of her son and his wife, and her 3 young grandchildren, so life is difficult. Ms. Tu often comes to the wardrobe of the Women's Union to choose suitable clothes, shoes, sandals, hats, etc. for the whole family to use. “The wardrobe has many new and beautiful items. Thanks to this wardrobe, my family has clothes to wear regularly, saving a significant amount of money. I find this model very meaningful and practical for people in difficult circumstances,” Ms. Tu shared.

Talking about the idea, Ms. Le Thi Quang - Head of the Women's Union of Phuoc Trung Ward 1 said that seeing that many people are still in difficulty and have limited access to buying clothes to wear every day, the union implemented this model to collect used items to share with those in need. To have clothes and items to put in the closet, the union propagates to members via Zalo and calls on friends, relatives, and benefactors to support and contribute. Every day, in the afternoon or morning, the union assigns each other to classify and arrange the wardrobe neatly so that people can come and get them easily. When there are a lot of clothes, the union mobilizes about 7 to 10 members to do it together. Ms. Quang said: "Every day, people come to the wardrobe to get clothes, some people choose 5 to 7 sets at a time. People who come to get clothes are usually scrap collectors, people in difficult circumstances, workers far from home... Seeing people happy when choosing a suitable outfit to wear, we are very happy".
Bridge between giver and receiver
Based on the fact that local families have many old but still good items, if they throw them away, it is a waste and pollutes the environment, while there are people who do not have the conditions to buy clothes. Therefore, from July 2022 to now, the Women's Union of Phuoc Trung Ward 2 has implemented the model "Wardrobe sharing love". The wardrobe is located in the park on Road No. 6 (Phuoc Long A Urban Area, Nam Nha Trang Ward). With the spirit of "Whoever has it, give it, whoever needs it, take it", the wardrobe becomes a bridge of love between the giver and the receiver. Every week, the union arranges the clothes in the wardrobe neatly. Ms. Pham Thi Lanh - Head of the Women's Union of Phuoc Trung Ward 2 said: "The model is not only a place for people in difficult circumstances to choose clothes on the spot, but also supports from 50kg to 1 ton of clothes per batch for charity groups to give to people in remote areas and areas affected by natural disasters and floods. The model is very effective because everyone can give away unused items to help people in more difficult circumstances than themselves."
In addition to the Women's Union of Phuoc Trung 2 Ward, there is also the Women's Union of Phuoc Hung Ward, which has been implementing the model of "Sharing Love Wardrobe" since July 2024. The wardrobes have been carefully renovated and reinforced by the branches to have a neat, clean display space, avoiding dust and dirt. Even though it is just a wardrobe on the side of the road or in a small corner in the park, the model has contributed to sharing love with the less fortunate.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Phuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, President of the Women's Union of Nam Nha Trang ward said that in the past time, the model "Love-Sharing Wardrobe" has been implemented very effectively by the branches. In the coming time, the association will strengthen propaganda, connection, and call for support from charitable organizations and individuals to have more supplies to support people in difficult circumstances.
