After conducting a field inspection and listening to reports from the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District and related units, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested relevant departments, agencies and branches to coordinate with local authorities to urgently determine the cause of landslides, assess the level of impact and propose response solutions before this year's rainy season.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment presides over and coordinates with the Department of Construction and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to conduct geological surveys and develop long-term stabilization plans to ensure safety for the relic site.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will compile a current status profile, assess the risk of impact on the original elements constituting the relic; research and integrate conservation solutions into the regional development plan, aiming to protect cultural and historical values and restore the coastal ecological environment.

The Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee emphasized that, in the immediate future, relevant units should urgently develop and propose feasible solutions to handle the erosion situation, paying special attention to technical efficiency, investment costs, sustainability and environmental impact.

The city agreed to implement temporary solutions to limit negative developments; continue to research and develop long-term, fundamental and sustainable plans to fully protect the value of the relic.

“Nam Chon Station relic is not only a rare historical heritage of the city but also a red address in patrioticeducation , with potential for developing ecological and cultural tourism. Protecting the original state and landscape of the relic is an urgent task, requiring the synchronous and drastic participation of all levels and sectors,” Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested.

Nam Chon Station has an area of about 14,272m², built in a solid defensive style with two layers of walls, a surrounding moat and four gates opening in four directions.

The project was built on coastal sandy soil using the technique of stacking stones without mortar, clearly demonstrating the technical level and military strategic thinking of the Nguyen Dynasty. This is one of the typical military defense projects that has remained almost intact since the Nguyen Dynasty.
