Opening of the National Final Round of the Asian Mathematics Competition

According to information from the Organizing Committee, after the preliminary round of the Asian Mathematics Competition - AIMO 2025, from 2,400 students from all over the country, more than 600 candidates participated in the national final round.

This will be a dramatic and exciting round to select the best students to attend the international final round taking place in early August in Japan.

The National Finals activities will take place at Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the following schedule:

Opening ceremony: Sunday morning July 6 held in front of Building D8.

Official competition: Takes place at the lecture hall of Building D8.

Closing and award ceremony: Sunday afternoon, July 6, held at Hall C2, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In 2025, Tien Phong Newspaper - Hanoi University of Science and Technology will co-organize the Asian Mathematics Competition - AIMO 2025.

From 8am to 10am, more than 600 contestants officially entered the Olympic-style exam, taking 120 minutes to complete the paper-based test in English, consisting of 3 parts (A, B, C), requiring logical thinking, critical thinking, analysis and problem solving.

Candidates move from the opening stage to the examination room according to the flow chart and take the exam in the lecture hall of building D8.

All contestants participating in the National Final Round of the competition will receive a Certificate from the AIMO Vietnam Organizing Committee.

Candidates with excellent results will be awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze medals in the ratio of 1:2:3 corresponding to the number of winning candidates in each grade.

The top 5 contestants from each grade will represent Vietnam at the AIMO 2025 international competition held in Japan this August. This is a great opportunity for young mathematical talents to prove themselves in the regional and international arena.

With a vibrant academic atmosphere and outstanding contestant quality, the final round promises to be an inspiring knowledge festival, where promised "stars" of Mathematics from Vietnam gather.

AIMO is a prestigious international Math playground, aiming to find, develop and honor students with outstanding logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

The competition has been held annually since 2012 by the International AIMO Executive Committee - Asian Mathematical Olympiad Association, attracting thousands of participants from many different countries such as: Brazil, Bulgaria, China, India, Thailand, Malaysia...

Vietnam participated in this competition since 2019 and quickly made its mark with more than 200 international medals, affirming the students' capacity as well as the correct orientation of Vietnamese generaleducation in developing students' thinking and foreign languages.

In 2025, Tien Phong Newspaper - Hanoi University of Science and Technology will coordinate to organize the Asian Mathematics Competition - AIMO 2025 and implemented by Tien Phong Joint Stock Company for candidates from grades 2 to 12 national to compete in English Mathematics.

The competition aims to create a playground for students to learn, nurture their passion for Math and practice logical - analytical - critical thinking. This is also an opportunity for students to practice thinking, approach language and integrate into the global learning space through the language of Mathematics in English.
