Opening of the Food Festival combined with the Exhibition of OCOP products, craft villages and Gia Lai Coffee and Gong Culture Festival

(gialai.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of August 29, at Quy Nhon Children's Park, Gia Lai province held the opening ceremony of the Food Festival "Delicious Dishes from Basalt Land and Sea" combined with the OCOP Product Exhibition, Craft Villages and Coffee and Gong Culture Festival of Gia Lai province. This is one of the activities in the series of events of the 2025 Festival of the Quintessence of the Great Forest - Blue Sea Convergence, aiming to honor the unique cultural and culinary values ​​of Gia Lai province.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee; Cao Thanh Thuong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and socio-political organizations of the province.

The event was attended by Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024, Media Ambassador of the 2025 Festival of the Essence of the Great Forest - Blue Sea Convergence Dinh Thi Hoa. Representatives of sponsors, participating units at the booths along with a large number of people and tourists.

Accordingly, the Food Festival "Delicious Dishes from Basalt Land and Sea", OCOP Product Exhibition, Craft Villages and Coffee and Gong Culture Festival of Gia Lai Province will take place from August 29 to September 2, 2025, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a scale of 94 booths of 33 units, gathering the participation of restaurants inside and outside the province.

The festival space is richly designed, with specialty food areas from the mountains and sea, an area displaying OCOP products, traditional craft villages, and a space for Gia Lai specialty coffee and Vietnamese coffee. Notably, creative coffees that are popular with young people such as egg coffee, salt coffee, pandan coffee, coconut water coffee... made from high-quality robusta coffee beans from the highlands will be introduced at the event. In particular, visitors can also enjoy free coffee right at the Children's Park area throughout the festival.

In addition, the festival also honors the Central Highlands culture through gong performances, folk exchanges and performances of typical art by ethnic minorities.

The festival is an important tourism - trade - cultural promotion activity of Gia Lai province, aiming to promote the culinary quintessence from basalt mountains and forests to the sea, honor the value of OCOP products, and develop traditional craft villages. Through the festival, Gia Lai province wishes to introduce the potential and strengths of agriculture, craft villages, tourism and cuisine; at the same time, create conditions for businesses and cooperatives to connect and trade, expand the domestic market and aim for export.
